On Wednesday March 3, 2020, students in Michigan State found out that their classes would be held online. There were 13 states untouched by the coronavirus, Michigan being one of them. Then on Tuesday night, two cases came up. Michigan is not the only state that is holding college courses online. Some students think that this is okay, but others think that classes will be harder online rather than in person. Students are currently hoping that they don’t get sent home because they have jobs and things like that. College students are not the only ones that are panicking they say, residents of many towns are stocking up on supplies.

How would you react to the news that there were online classes?
I wouldn't be excited or unhappy about it. It wouldn't make a difference to me.
Do you think online classes would be easier or harder than classes in person?
I think that they would be harder because there would be no teacher to explain things or help with things that you didn't understand.

Delaney,
Stories need to be posted by class time on Monday. I do accept them later on Monday and on Tuesday but with points deducted. My policy is that on Wednesday, it becomes a zero. I will give yo uten points for doing it.
I do agree with all your statements, if I heard of this it would not make a difference to me because I do not go to that school; however, if there were no teachers I would have lots of trouble learning, however, not for all.
I think that online classes are a good alternative to going to school so that there isn't any spread of disease. The school year would last the same ammount of time without having to make up school and get people off track. I do however, don't know how it will compare to real school, since there will be more distractions since you are in the comfort of your own home other than being in a school with supervisors to make sure you are on task.
It doesnt really impact me but if I were told that I would have to take my classes online I would not really be too concerned about it because I am capable of doing my work online. Although if I had a job in the state im attending college at then I would be slightly concerned becuase if i get sent home and i have a job there how would I go to work.
I also think that classes will be harder. Due of the point that you made of there being no professor. As well as students procrastinating till the last minute. A lot of college students are huge procrastinators, and put their work off till the last day or dont even do it, and that is even with a professor. I can't even imagine how bad students are going to procrastinate now.
