One Man Undergoes 700 lb. Weight Loss

Robert Walls knew that his weight was a problem when he reached a little over 950 pounds. In 2008 Robert decided that gastric bypass was the best solution to his problem. Hundreds of pounds of excess skin were removed as Robert lost weight. Robert has lost 700 pounds since his surgery by staying active and playing basketball. Do you guys think Robert's story is an inspiration to people trying to lose weight? What do you think Roberts life is like now?

  • You only replied twice.

  • I think it would be more inspiration if he lost all the weight by himself. Robert probably feels really good now. Im sure its really hard living over 900 pounds.

  • I'm sure he is living a much happier life now because when people are over weight they tend to be not as happy as when they are in shape. I think this will show people trying to lose weight that anything is possible if you just put your mind too it.

  • Ive seen a lot of shows that are like My 600lb Life to Half Ton Man/Woman. I think that taking skin wouldnt be as bad and it will not kill you due to the extreme weight loss but removing solid fat can cause serious damage. But its a good thing that he got in removed

  • I bet this story helps people trying to lose weight because they know if he did it they can too. His life is probably a lot better now

  • he noticed his weight was a problem when he reached 950 pounds? If I were him I would have done that a lot sooner. but that is good that he is not gaining it all back.

  • I think his story may be different for people trying to lose weight because he did have the surgery, but he also lost 700 pounds on his own just by working out and staying active.

  • I do think that this is an inspiration to people trying to loose weight. It is fabulous that he took the fact that he was overweight and did something about it!

  • I think that it's inspiring for people for who are really over weight, but if it's not that bad then I think that you could do something and get moving. It's great that he is active and playing basketball because that's more ways to loose some weight if he wants to loose more.

  • The fact that he's doing as much as he is to lose weight and keep it off is really inspiring. Most people wouldn't be as motivated to keep the weight off after a procedure like that. I would imagine that his life is completely different now.
