So evidently, Omaha has been ranked as the 8th most secure and safe city in the US. WHAT?! I think that's crazy since all the news coming out of Omaha, besides the Huskers, is all about break-ins, hit and runs, and late night shoot outs. It baffles me that Omaha is the 8th safest city in the US. What do you think?Article: http://www.kmtv.com/news/local/135682733.html

Honestly, no i do not think that Omaha should be ranked that high in the "safest" place in the US. I hear on the news about everyday about how there are either breakins or shoortings. Personally, it should be rated 8th most dangerous in the US.
I definently don't think that Omaha is safe in most parts. During 9/11 the president was taken to Omaha for safety. So, apparently it's safe somewhere in Omaha!
I believe Omaha is a fairly safe place, depending on what part of town you're in. People just think that it's such a scary place because they hear about shootings and murderers and stuff like that on tv. But in other places, it's a lot worse.
That does suprise me because we hear about all the shootings and murders in North Omaha. I guess it isn't as bad as some other big cities. But i am still suprised
I don't think that Omaha would be the 8th in the US. All you hear on the news is how some place got robbed at gun point or how someone drove into someone's house. It was on the news last week. The most you hear about though is al the shooting in North Omaha, and I've been in North Omaha. I didn't feel safe at all.
I mean, for all the citys around Omaha size.. Omaha would be pretty safe. You can't just go off of what happens in Omaha and judge it from there.. You have to look at the shooting, robbery, break in, blah blah blah rates of other big cities too.
We're all used to such a quiet town, so hearing about shootings every week scares us. However, people from cities with a higher crime rate probably wouldnt be suprised to hear about Omaha ranking 8th.
