Two University of California, Davis police officers involved in pepper spraying seated protesters are being placed on administrative leave as the chancellor of the school accelerates the investigation into the incident.
UC Davis Chancellor Linda Katehi on Sunday said she has been inundated with reaction over the incident, in which an officer fires pepper spray on a line of sitting demonstrators.
Video of the incident was circulated widely on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter on Saturday, and the university's faculty association called on Katehi to resign, saying in a letter there had been a "gross failure of leadership."
I watched the youtube video of this happening and the protesters did nothing wrong they were peacefully just sitting in a line and protesting! and an officer cam up with pepper spray and started going down the line spraying them in the faces!! Any comments

this is a scary time, with all of the protests going on on Wall Street and such. In my opinion, I think it is great that the youth are getting involved and standing up for what they believe in, though I don't think that the protests need to get as out of hand as they do.
My brother showed me a video of this! it was crazy! it mad me soooo mad! I have anger issues and i woulda probably hit the police. The students werent doing anything bad! they were just sitting there!!! So stupid! the police should get introuble for that.
Wow. If they were just peacefully protesting, then why would they want to pepper spray them?? I think he could have at least warned them that if they didn't stop then he was going to pepper spray them. Would that have been too much to ask? I think not!
I saw this on the news this morning. That would sting so bad to have pepper spray sprayed in your eyes.
Where else are they supposed to pepper-spray them at?
