In Northwest Harris County, Houston Around 11:45 at night two armed men attempted to rob a Domino's. The robbers ran into the restaurant and demanded money, both of their faces were covered with bandannas and each had a handgun. An off-duty police officer encoutered the two robbers and shot at them. One of the robbers was shot and fell inside the store, the officer chased the other suspect out of the store and shot him a couple blocks down the road. Both of the robbers were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The police officer had been a deputy for 25 years. I think that is really courageous of the officer to do something like that while he was off duty.
How would you have reacted if you were the officer? Do you think the officer did the right thing by shooting the robbers?

Yes. Doesn't even have to be cop for it to be the right thing to do. Anyone in that position and who are responsible with a gun should do that.
If I were the officers I would have done it because those are criminals that are just going to keep doing it unless something is done about it. I think that they did the right thing by shooting them even if they are off duty because they stopped a problem that could have ended up happening more often.
I agree those guys could have done a lot more crimes if he hadn't stopped them.
I believe there was no other option other than shooting them, because the officer knew they would run if he said freeze. It was really courageous of him to take them down when off duty and it was quite a coincidence that he was there to stop it! I think I would've done the same thing!
I agree he just had to react and use his natural instinct.
I think this is a good example that they are officers no matter what their wearing, plain clothes or a uniform. The officer may not have been technically on-duty but he is still going to do the right thing no matter what.
I agree they should always be ready to be help in case of crime.
I think the officer did the right thing by shooting the robbers. They probably would have got away if it wasn't for him.
I agree he may have saved other businesses if he hadn't done something.
