On Tuesday, a man drove into a bike path killing eight in Manhattan. He watched ISIS videos on his cellphone which influenced him to go through with these attacks. Deputy John Miller reported that the crime scene reflects this was an ISIS attack. It looks as if the suspect followed the instructions from ISIS almost exactly from their social media channels. The suspect was charged on Wednesday for his crimes. Sayfullo Saipov, the suspect, was shot by a police officer during the attack and later was transported to the hospital for treatment. He's an immigrant from Uzbekistan in 2010. He is supposed to survive from his injury, but his crime could be punishable by the death penalty.

How do you think he should be punished for his crime?

Do you think he came to America planning to attack us? Why/Why not?

Answers: I think he should receive the death penalty for attacking America and supporting ISIS. I think on some level he did plan to attack America when he came over. He was probably working with ISIS planning the attack for some time now. Normally you would come to America because you think it's a better country than your own to live in. Instead, he attacked America making me think he had something like this planned all along.

  • Well done Dani! Try spreading your comments out a bit more. You commented a lot bit didn't reply to any comments on page 4 or 5.

  • DEATH PENALTY! His actions deserve no mercy. He murdered people and needs to realize that once you've killed someone you will be labeled a murder and if you go on a spree a serial killer and if influenced by terrorists a terrorist. His actions should warrant the death penalty to be acted upon him. Yes, he watched ISIS videos and was influenced by them maybe he wasn't at the very beginning, but when he started watching those videos he was then set in stone to attack.

  • Yes I do believe that this fella should be punished for his crime. He killed multiple people on his own will. It doesn't matter if he was part of ISIS, killing innocent people is just heartless. I believe he may have because that could be what his goal was. He could have wanted to do that to show his loyalty to ISIS.

    • He is very heartless in his actions. Killing 8 people because of ISIS videos and social media is unthinkable! His punishment should be as severe as his crime. He should receive the death penalty or solitary confinement.

  • Life in prison. No parole. He doesn't deserve to see any of the outside world. No I do not. It says these videos influenced him, so I do not believe he came with lots of malicious intent.

    • No parole is a must for this situation! He shouldn't be able to live in the real world; I agree. Normally people come to this country for better opportunities and he obviously new his opportunities won't be any better by killing 8 people!!!

  • I think he should be punished while in jail for life. Then later on receive the death penalty. I do think that he came to America having this already planned. Usually you come to America for a better life and obviously he knew that by doing what he did that was not going to happen. I think he planned out the whole 7 years he has been here.

    • I think this would be a good punishment for him. He would probably be scared of death or waiting for that day to come. I think this was previously planned as well before he came.

  • 1. I don't think he should recieve the death penalty because I feel like that would be an encouragement to Isis. Like they finally got into our heads. I think he should serve a life sentence for what he has done. 2. I think he was planning on attacking us. It says that he was watching Isis videos and got educated on how to attack us. I think he had/has a lot of hatred for the U.S. I think a lot of places around the world don't exactly like us. It just makes me wonder what the future is going to be like.

    • Many of the ISIS attackers expect to die in their attacks, so spending the rest of his life in prison would be a good idea. Solitary confinement would be an idea for the court to decide.
