Recently, North Korea has reopened communications with South Korea. The seemingly random action to perhaps ease tension, however, was tainted by the less than subtle threat against the United states of Kim Jong Un's nuclear button. This could not be ignored by our president Donald Trump. In retaliation of this threat Mr. President Trump made a statement that he too has a nuclear button and that his is more powerful and much bigger than North Korea's. This recent softening of the tension does not have a guaranteed lasting effect. Even though there is hope, history has a record of any truly diplomatic talk ending in stalemate.
Do you think that tension between the countries will stay subdued or do you think they will re-climate? why?
Do you think that this should be handled as more of a true threat or as an empty threat as it seems to be thus far, do you think this could get more serious quickly? give a reason for your choice.
Answers: 1. I think that the tension between the countries will continue to acclimate because of the way both countries are insulting each other quite often. It does not help diplomacy when both leaders are at each other's throats.
2. I feel like the less than subtle threat against the U.S. should be taken perhaps more seriously as we have seen several missile tests and he seems more bold about open threats. I feel like incorrect handling of this situation could make it worse but for now it seems that it is not going anywhere super serious for now.

1. I think that the tension between the countries will remain for a very long time, even if the nuclear crisis is averted. People don't forget threats, rights being infringed, and mass murder, and the tension between these countries will remain until we can forgive and forget.
2. I think this should be handled as a true threat because Kim Jung Un has the power to take out millions of Americans, and he is threatening to do so. It would be better to take an empty threat as serious, rather than dismissing a true threat as empty.
I believe that it isn't going to be long before everyone gets fired up again because well Kim Jong Un has to much power and Trump just has to have the last word. I believe that this should be monitored but we shouldn't be acting like its the end of our country as we know it. I say this because Kim Jong Un just hit one of his own cities with his own bomb so, yeah.
Re-climate because there is going to be something little that is going to piss somebody off. I would say empty, hopefully some of the little stuff that irritates people wont lead to a nuclear explosion.
Hopefully the tensions will stay subdued because that would seem to be good for the whole world. But I do believe the might re-climate. North Korea is a very powerful force, and they are hard to work with, so I feel that one word that they do not like could send the tension sky high.
I don't think Kim Jong Un will send a nuclear bomb unless he is 100% sure that it will hurt us. I also think he is waiting for the right time so we are unprepared. As of right now, I think it is an empty threat.
In my opinion this might sound as a game for them but they are putting lives in risk because it have been prove that north korea have nuclear weapons and we never know when they are going to used it.So Trump should be more careful with the things that he say because it might trigger north korea to bomb us.
1. Re-climate, its only a matter of time before one the the guys calls some dude out and they start roasting each other or something probably.
2. Empty without a doubt, its not going to be that bad probably, just really funny. Some guys aren't going to start total nuclear annihilation just because he says his Yeezy's don't look dank enough.
I think there will be tension someday between these two countries because I am a big believer that history will repeat itself eventually. I think this could become more serious very rapidly. I feel like a war would break out, again. Then, the United States would want to help out for South Korea, again.
I think in the future countries will re-climate because there's always gonna be tension and something will probably happen. I think it should get more serious because if countries get in fights, they could create war and the US might get involved.
I think no matter what happens between the countries, there will always be some sort of tension or disagreement about something and there is no way of getting rid of it. I do think that matters could be handled way more appropriately than they are being handled right now. I think that this could start something serious as Donald Trump is egging on the situation.
