Last Friday at the Paralympic Opening Ceremonies, North and South Korea marched in separately. This is very different from the Olympic Opening Ceremonies where North and South Korea marched in as one.
On Thursday, the North and South Korean International Paralympic Committee had a talk where "the IPC had offered both countries the chance to march together under the same conditions as last month's Olympic Winter Games". At this meeting, the Paralympic committees disagreed about the unification flag that would be used, so the IPC recommended that North and South Korea march separately at the Opening Ceremonies of the Paralympics. The IPC president, Andrew Parsons, said, "Although we are disappointed, we respect the decision of the two (National Paralympic Committees) who decided that marching separately would be better for both parties. At the end of the meeting, both NPCs recognized that their participation in PyeongChang 2018 has brought them closer together, and the two have committed to working more closely together in the future".

Questions:
1. Do you think North and South Korea will start becoming more friendly with each other, or become enemies again?
2. Why do you think North and South Korea decided to march separately at the Paralympics?
My Opinion:
I think North and South Korea will continue to become more friendly with each other. Walking together in the Olympics and having a combined hockey team, created a bond between these two countries, and I think it will continue to grow.
Obviously, the committees did not approve of the unification flag that they would march under at opening ceremonies. Along with that, I think the Paralympic teams wanted to do something different than the Olympics, so they thought it would be best to march separately.

Good job!
I'm hoping they become more freindly, but am afriad the tension between them is rising. Maybe they had some meetings that weren't shared to the public and maybe got in some arguments. There is many things that could have happened since then.
Why do you think the tension between them is rising? There may have been arguments between the two countries that stopped them from walking with each other between the Olympics and Paralympics.
I think that the two countries will start to be more friendly because of the progress they made at the winter Olympics. I think the reason they marched seperately was because they couldn't agree on the uniflag. It's just like disagreeing on projects in school everyone needs to agree or it won't happen.
I really hope they continue to stay happy with each other, and the Olympics was a definitely the start to their friendship. The flag was probably the biggest reason, and there needed to be an agreement between them.
It seemed like they were getting more friendly when the marched together, now they're not. I think they're going to stay neutral with each other. The comittees of the paralympics might have different ideas on the unification of North and South Korea.
I think marching together in the Olympics was a big step in the right direction, and in time I think it could continue to happen. I think if they stay neutral with each other it is better than being enemies.
I hope they continue to become more friendly with each other, but I don't necessarily think it will happen. I think they probably won't take much action to work together even though they said they would. I think they will continue their neutral feelings towards each other. Maybe North and South Korea had disagreements on treatment for the paralympians, so they refused to unite out of moral concern, or possiblly, North Korea wanted to be more isolated again. Otherwise, I don't know why they wouldn't want to unite.
That is a very good point. Both countries will need to take action to be friendly with each other, and that is always hard for two countries to do. Very true, both countries probably just wanted to represent themselves at the Paralympics.
I think a big event that causes hatred between the countries could cause them to become enemies; however, I think otherwise there is a good chance they will eventually become friends, especially if America can influence North Korea's government. I think they decided to march seperatley because they were both too stubborn and prideful to march together.
