Jason Collins became the first openly gay player in the NBA last year. Now the NFL will also have an openly gay player, in draft prospect Michael Sam from Missouri. Sam said he told his Mizzou teammates he was gay in August, and they supported him the whole season. He is projected to be drafted in the third round of the draft, but do you think this will impact how soon he is drafted? Some NFL players have said that they would not be comfortable playing with a gay teammate. Would you want to play with a teammate if you knew they were gay?

I am really surprised more people didn't reply to this story. It was on ESPN constantly earlier this week.
I personally don't think that whether he's gay or not should have any impact at all on his career. Whether or not players would be "comfortable" playing with him on their team is their own problem, and it's their own responsibility to deal with that, and not let it impact their jobs.
If they are good enough to play it should not matter if they like men.
