A new hotel built in Beijing, China is suppose to open in mid-November. It is 97 meters high with 21 floors of 306 rooms and suites. It is located on the shore of Yanqi Lake in Beijing. This hotel is far from being "traditional." It was designed to look like a rising sun which is a symbol for China's growing economy. The entrance is shaped like the mouth of a fish to symbolize prosperity. From the side the hotel looks like a scallop to represent the Chinese fortune in their culture. The outside windows of the hotel is covered with 10,000 glass panels. They are designed to reflect the lake and sky at night. The hotel is light by LED lights at night for detail. Many different designers from all over the world, even the United States, came together to create this. This is China's largest hotel property. It has 14 restaurants and bars, 2 spas, a private dock, recreational and fitness rooms, and even a kids club. This is the "new way" of designing and building hotels. I think this is a good idea to symbolize the country and culture, but might be taking it too far.

I think that it is a really cool idea to incorporate the symbols of the country into the architecture, but the entrance way being the mouth of a fish is a little weird. I would pay money to stay because it may seem a little weird on the outside, the inside is very inviting so i would pay money to stay.
If i had the money to do it, why not? it would be cool i beleive.
I do think that they went to far on this hotel because it is just a place to stay its not like it is an adventure place or something.
I think that if the have the money to build in and stay in then go right ahead. If I had enough money to stay in it I just might do that to create memories and to have a little fun.
Well they could do basically whatever they want with it and people will come to stay so it's most likely that they will make a profit.
I think it is a little much. I wouldn't spend money on something like this because when I stay in a hotel, I don't stay there for more then a day or two usually so why need 14 restaurants and fitness rooms and all these other things when you are going to only stay there for a little while. It would be very hard to enjoy all of those things. Hotels are basically meant for giving you a place to stay for a couple nights. Not your whole life. I think that this was way over built and a waste of money to spend it on.

First this would be the experience of a lifetime, of course i would take it. Second This is a new and interesting take on architecture, i consider it cool and epic.
It would probably be interesting to stay there for just one night. I think it will be cool to get more building like this in the US.
