New Words

Merriam Webster is adding new words to the dictionary. What is the deal with that? They aren't really words though!! They are 2 words put together, or words people make up that catch on. What are your thoughts?

i can't believe that they added "tweet" and "bromance" as words to the dictionary!! i'm mean, sure, people use those words a lot, but that doesn't mean they are actually words!!

thats pretty dumb..some of the new words are made up, like slang, so why would you put them in a dictionary?

I love it. I mean they are already used anyways so why not make them official so people who learn our language have an idea what where talking about.

yeah personally i think there is enough words in the dictionary. so i say we keep it as it is and dont add anymore stupid words to the dictionary.

Yeah, those are kind of stupid words to add to the dictionary. People use them a lot I guess, but just as slang words. It's dumb to put them in the dictionary though.

if someone is going to use the world they are gunna know what it means.. when it comes to putting two words together... personally i think that it is dumb to do that... it is almost defeating the whole purpose, if we start adding random "new" words to our dictionary.

"bromance" really? Whoever uses that anymore its just stupid and why would they make a word based off some website.
