The History Curriculum is just about to change. the idea is that we will NOT have to know any dates whatsoever. i totally agree. who needs to know the date of things? we already know the basics. its not like im going to die if i dont know when Pearl Harbor was bombed..although i already know that... But seriously, what do you think? Do you think its better to keep the current curriculum, or change it? Or, are you Undecided, or Indifferent?

I think changing it so we don't have to know exact dates is okay. Just that they still teach us the same thing. That is all that matters.
Well I do think that it is important to know some dates, but not all of the little battles of wars and stuff.
I think it would be easier for testing, but i think it is important to know some dates in history because some are really important. as the years go on they might be forgotten
i dont think we need to know all of the dates of things in history. there are too many!!
I don't think you have to know dates for everything, but you should know them for the big stuff (Declaration of Independence, Pearl Harbor, that kind of stuff). I don't think its that hard to memorize them.
I think it would be a good idea because there are just way too many dates for kids to memorize now a days
