I saw this story on espn. This is an amazing never give up story. That would be scary swimming in the ocean with jelly fish and sharks in the water.
I remember last year she tried to make it but was interrupted by lightning. It's cool that she kept trying this over and over again until she pulled it off. I think that this could bring Cuba and the US closer together.
Holy cow! This is crazy! You and me both know, from being in swim team, that this is a lot of work! I mean 103 miles! That's insane and she's 64. I mean c'mon! AMAZING! (:
That is amazing, and the fact that she is 64 years old makes it so much better. I can't imagine they type of endurance she must have had and the concentration it must have taken. This is truly wonderful.
This is fascinating. I get tired swimming the length of the pool, and I am no where near 64 years old! I am so proud for this lady.
This had to take some crazy motivation and drive to pull off something like this. It's just amazing that someone can do that. 103 miles that's just unthinkable for someone to swim that and with out a shark cage to I would be scared out of my mind. You can also easily tell that she is not a quitter after failing 4 times she goes back and beats it. That is a perfect example of determination, motivation, and also courage.
That is amazing, I dont know how else to say it. I wouldve given up after the first time.
I would not be able to swim that far in my best condition. I probably wouldnt try to do it again if I failed the first 4 times.
I'm shocked! She could have died from fatigue. Props to her for achieving her dangerous goals. She could have taken more precaution with the sharks.
