Nature's Little Secret

"Spanish adventurer Gaspar de Carvajal wrote of "cities that gleamed white" and "very fruitful land," on his wanderings along the Eucadorian Napo River in 1541. But today there is little evidence of such a civilization. Instead this corner of the Amazon, like the rest of the massive tropical forest, is seemingly inhospitable: full of dense, obstructive vegetation and buzzing with poisonous creepy crawlies"

Scientists have found indication of ancient human residence in the Amazon, that reminicent of this city that Carvajal described.  I think this is interesting because it raises the question, " Are there other "mythical cities that have a foot in the real world?"  I mean who knows maybe Atlantis and El Dorado are actually real.  Who knows?????

  • ah i hope el dorado is real. i love that movie.
  • i eat poisonus creepy crawlies for breakest
  • i totally believe theres all these lost cities out there. im going to find them. i think people underestimate the abilities of people from way back when. they created so many things that seem impossible like the Pyramid of Giza, the Colosseum, Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu, the Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, Petra, the Temple of Artemis, and many other things. if they can build all that then why wouldnt they be able to create amazing cities that may have happened to fall into the ocean or be destroyed by an earthquake or some other natural event?
  • If they ever find Atlantis, I'm taking a submarine there for sure. Maybe this is another one of those weird scenarios where a group of people just sort of vanish off the face of the earth.. you never know I suppose.
  • My theory is that atlantis and other cities were real and there long before we think they were and that when pangea started separtating and the poles reversed I think they were sent to the bottom of the sea or swallowed by the earth or covered and collapsed by earthquakes and volcanoes. I don't think that we should close others Ideas because of weakly supported conclusions by scientists.
  • i think it would be pretty sweet to find lost cities. it would be exciting
  • thats pretty sweet
  • I dont think theyres any "Lost Cities" im pretty sure weve explored everything on this planet that can be explored.
  • El Dorado was a REEEALLLY good movie, when I was in middle school in Schleswig, I'd studied Easter Island, with the statues there, they found the eyes across the island and it took HUGE machines to get the eyes back in, they didnt have that kind of tech. back then...so makes you wonder....after seeing the movie Atlantis, made me wonder....
