Nasa's Submarine

Nasa is developing a submarine to investigate the Kraken Mare methane sea on Saturn's moon Titan. This sub would be used to investigate everything from the composition and floor of the sea to evidence of aliens. Another challenge will be getting the sub there. It won't fit on traditional landers. It might take the Boeing X-37, which is currently being used by the air force. The sub will not be ready until 2047.

What do you think it could find?

Why do you think it could take 30+ years until it is ready?

    I think it will find a whole bunch of nothing except rocks and more rocks. It takes a lot to make a sub that can stand the conditions of another planet, and they need to take time to plan it all out so all their work doesn't crash and burn.

    I think it will find out what the Kraken Mare is made of and what creatures inhabit it. It could take 30 years because every President changes funding and NASA programs.  Also modifying the lander and the equipment needed will take awhile.

      I didnt think of the budget changes. they probably run into alot of troubles from that.

    I think this could be a huge break through for NASA or it could be a huge fail or another big waste of money. This is going to be a huge complex piece of machinery, it is going to be very technological so it will take a long time to make.

      If it were to fail they would waste all of that time money and technology with it. They will probably only have one chance.

    I hope they find super interesting creatures! It would be really fascinating to find out what lies way out there. I can't imagine what the technology will look like in 30 years, but seeing the progress we have made in about 10 years ... In 30, this will be a completely different story.

      Yeah i agree that 30 years of technology may make this an amazing peice of machinery. I hope it find anything cool.

    I believe it could find anything it was sent out to find, if those things it were sent out to find were real. I believe it's gonna take 30+ years to get it ready because scientists want it so technologically advanced for such an amazing mission with an incredible feat to accomplish.

      I think that 30 years of technology will make it amazing. Hopefully it finds what we are looking for.
