On February 5th, 2020 Donald Trump was giving his State of the Union speech. Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence were sitting behind him while he was giving his speech. Nancy Pelosi during the speech started to rip up Donald Trumps speech. It says that after she ripped the pages up you layed them face down on her table. It was said that she was trying to keep her cool the whole speech. Before she ripped his speech up she put a small rip in it before she ripped them completely. Vice President Pence said, "It felt like such an immediate moment." It was said that she had to take some exercises before the speech to stay quiet. After the speech she said the reason she ripped the speech was because it was a bunch of lies.

Nancy Pelosi should not have ripped the paper. This was a childish and disrespectful act towards President Donald Trump. She should not have done it, even if she thought the paper was a bunch of lies. The whole world saw this online and this act does not represent our nation right. I think that Nancy Pelosi should be charged with some type of criminal act.
I also think that it was foolish to rip up the papers. I also believe her actions add up to what a child would do. I don't think that she should not be charged because I think that the way she acted in fronts of the camera, and the way people now think of her is enough punishment.

I don't think that it was okay for Nancy to rip the speech. She represents the House of Represenatives meaning that she's a huge part of Congress; for her to show that kind of disrespect wasn't okay. I do not think Nancy Pelosi did the right thing by ripping up the speech as that was quite a childish and immature act to do. I understand that she was very heated about what Trump was saying in the speech, but there were lots more ways that she could've dealt with her anger rather than ripping up the speech in front of everyone. I think that she needs to be able to control her anger a little better. There is a lot of tension between Nancy and Trump, but I feel as though they need to act more civilized as they hold such important positions. I don't think she should be charged with anything because I can guarantee that the speech she ripped up was not the sole copy.
