As we know, there have been many social problems with gender neutrality recently. On February 25, 2021, Hasbros’ Mr. Potato Head toys became more gender neutral by claiming that they were dropping the “Mr”. Hasbro claims that they are making all feel welcomed in the world by changing the name. They did follow up and say that they weren’t officially taking the “Mr.” out but instead making a family pack where kids could create their own Potato Heads.
Personally, I don’t agree with the actions that they were looking at taking. There is also a Mrs. Potato Head toy as well as the Mr. Potato Head. I understand that there might be non-binary individuals and people that think the word “Mr.” in a toys’ name could be “unfair”. The name was not meant to offend anyone and the toy was first named in 1952. Mr Potato Head was also the first toy to be broadcasted on television. When the toy came out it was simply something to keep kids entertained. I don’t think that companies should have to be changing their products names just because of “equality”. I agree that humans should have equal rights and equality towards each other; however, a brand name should not be seen as “unfair”. I think that they should stick to the plan of making a “Family Pack” of potato heads where kids can create their own “family” consisting of whatever or whoever they want. I disagree with changing a name that has been around for this long just because of people's views today.
Do you think that they should change the name? Why/why not?
Do you think the "Family Pack" is a better idea? Why/why not?

I agree. Mr and Mrs Potato Head have been around for a long time, and I see no reason to change the name at this point.
I believe that there is truly no point in dropping the "Mr" in Mr.Potato head, not only is there already a Mrs. Potato head, but the Mrs. Potato head parts acn be fitted to mr potato head already making "him" gender fluid. The only difference between the two is the parts that come with the Mrs and Mr packs.
I don't really see this as a huge problem, after all, it's literally just a potato. I understand it had that name for a long time, but companies change and rename their products constantly for many reasons, not just for social issues. That's just apart of marketing and business, sellers do what they can to make products different and original. The Mr. and Mrs. aligned with the Potato Head toys are definitely nostalgic and ingrained in our brains, but I don't think it's the end of the world that the company is taking them away. If you want to call it a Mr. Potato Head, then do that, it's just a toy.
I sort of agree with you. However, if it is "just a toy" then why change the name? I don't think that the Mr. Potato head should be offending anyone.
In my opinion, I do not see a reason to change the name. I think it is fine the way it is. There is a Mr.Photo head and Mrs.Photo head. I think that is good enough. I do not think the company should need to change the item. I also think the family pack would be a great idea. It could include both. It solves the problem without having to change the whole name.
I do not think they should change the name because there is a Mrs. Potato Head and that's enough for them. The family pack is a good idea. It will allow kids to make and creat what they want, but I don't see a problem with a Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.
I agree. The family pack will allow kids to create whatever they want.
While I don't think a nonbinary Potato Head would be revolutionary to the leftist community, I do think the idea of keeping something the way it was because it was made decades ago doesn't make it still cool, just like racist mascots. The family pack is nice, but parents can teach their kids about gender neutrality without a huge corporation shoving gay alliance down their throat.
I think that they changed the name for no other reason than for attention. They want to stay relevant, and I think it's pathetic. It's obviously a marketing ploy, fueled by virtue signaling and targeted toward gullible individuals. Honestly, it just makes me sad the people who created such great things during my childhood are now so dumb.
I agree with you. I think that they should leave the name alone, as it has been for years now.
