1. Too much plagiarism. Do your own work! Put everything into your own words! If you need help learning to summarize, ask for help! 2. Too many people are not doing message board posts. These are too easy not to do. 3. Too many people not doing daily reflective blogs correctly. Again, focus on what you learned and expand on how much you write. Do not only put what we did or what topics we discussed. These can usually be done in class so there is no excuse to not getting them done. Research shows that if you do it correctly, you will do better in this class overall. These can be note based but be sure to put your thoughts into your entry as well. I will be more picky in grading these 2nd quarter. 4. When I am gone or am testing, do not write "free day" or "we didn't do anything today". If you are using your time wisely, you will learn something. 5. More focus needs to be put on writing with high quality. 6. More focus needs to be put on understanding your material better, whether it be for presentations or tests. 7. Oral tests are going over very well. On average, students are doing much better than on my previous way of testing-essay tests. 8. More focus needs to be put on how to cite your sources correctly. 9. I am very pleased with everyone's behavior and attitude. So far so good!! 10. Everyone needs to get their project(s) up on their website. Then you need to pull your project and your blog to the top of your website. 11. For your assigned blogs, be sure to always put your thoughts and opinions into your blog entry. Don't forget the pictures/video as well! 12. Check the comments I leave you on your website and on your blog. These tell you what you are doing wrong. 13. CWI students--Study for map test over a longer period of time. Many of you, by waiting, are not giving yourself a chance to do well on the map tests. Don't use the lame excuses "I've always been terrible at maps" or "I can't memorize". You have to start studying the right way!!!! 14. Communicate with me(or Ms. Bryan for USH) if you need help in any area(before school, 2nd hour, 6th hour, email, chat room). My best advice to you: Do well on your website grade(message board, assigned blogs, daily reflective blogs, website look) if you want to do well in my class.
