Moving the US Open

Bryson DeChambeau won the US open on September 20th.  They always have the US Open on Father's day weekend but could not this year because of Covid.  He was 6 under par after the 4 days. I have been to a PGA tournament.  There are lots of people that follow certain people and are cheering for them.  They are along the fairways and the tee box and the greens.  The US Open would have lot more fans than the tournament I was at.  But maybe the players can focus better without the fans.  There may have even been players who did not come because they were afraid of covid or traveling.

Do you think it affects the players to not have fans watching them?

Do you think that people should have ben able to go the the US Open?

  • While I think your topic choice is good, your summary is brief and just needs to explain things better. You also could have replied more frequently as the week went along as well.

  • I think the players will be better with out the fans their to distract them and throw their game off. I it would have been nice to allow the fans to go but I see why they said no to it, becasue its a big crowd of people and they don't want anyone getting covid.

  • I think it will seem weird to the players but help them play better because they can focus more. I know that in the NFL they play crowd sounds over speakers and I wonder if they'll do the same thing here. I think that people should be allowed to go.

  • It shouldn't nessasary really mess with the player or fans because yoour still palying so what makes its any different I feel like. Yes, I feel like it should have been a choice given to alll the fans not just choose for them. Everyone has their won choices and opoin to things and now it just feelis like we don't have any of that.

  • I think maybe it would affect some players, especially if they like being cheered on and having people their to support them. Many players do better when they have people there to support them, as it could boost their confidence. I do believe people should have been able to go though since it is outside and there is enough room for social distancing.

  • I don't think it will affect the players to have no spectators, because golf is a silent sport I don't know allot about golf and every player will react different to there being spectators and no spectators. I think that no sporting event should have spectators just because of the virus right now by letting people in large crouds to watch these events we are just spreading the deisese no matter how many procautions that we take.

  • I think that it really all depends on the player. Some players do better knowing the fact that they have fans cheering them on, in fact a lot of people preform better knowing they have poeple cheering them on. Then you have the players that do better when they dont have people cheering them on. I also belive that it was smart to not have fans that way the players have a lower chance of getting covid.

  • I think it does affect not having any people there to watch you. Golf is a very quiet sport but you can still tell if people are there watching you. I think it was a good thing that people were not allowed to go. It helps make sure everyone is staying safe during this time.

  • I think it could have an affect on players when they do not have fans watching and cheering them on. The fans are the ones who cheer the players on and support them. I think people should of been able to go since the event was outside and there was enough room to social distance. They also could of just limited the amount of people who could come.

  • I think that it could have possibly made a difference on the players if they didn't have anyone cheering them on because most people do better when they know they have people cheering them on and people supporting them, it could also boost their confidence and help them do better in anything they are competing in.
