So now we've come to the second sequel and third film in the Friday the 13th franchise. This is the film where Jason Voorhees finally gets his beloved hockey mask. This was also originally shown in 3D, as the first of the 3 3-D movies, the other two being Jaws 3 in 3D and Amityville 3 in 3D. So let's do it.
Plot:
We start with the same last moments of Part 2 repeated before the opening credits. Then we go to a diner around the Crystal Lake area. A greedy female co-owner and her husband, the other co-owner, are murdered by Jason in basic style.
So we move on to the new teenagers. They are out for the weekend. This is really the first fault in the series: it starts the day after the last film, so technically its Sunday the 15th when we get to the teens. They arrive after being warned, this time by a crazy farmer. The main girl, Chris, meets up with her boyfriend, Rick.
After two kids, Shelly and Vera, go to a gas station to get some groceries, they run into a motorcycle gang. The two then leave and accidentally hit the bikes. They follow them and decide to take revenge by burning down the barn at the lake setting. Jason, who happens to be hiding out there, kills the three of them.
Afterwards, Rick and Chris decide to go someplace more private. She tells him a story about how she hid from her parents a few years ago and was chased by Jason, only she didn't know it was him. The two agree that they will get past this, and walk back toward the cabin.
Meanwhile, Jason takes action and kills the remaining teens, everbody but Chris and Rick. They get back when a storm begins to brew. They can't find anybody and start looking around. Rick is killed and Chris finds a few bodies. Jason begins chasing her.
It ends finally in the barn where Chris hangs Jason. He comes back to life somehow, reveals he chased her in that story she told Rick, and one motorcycle gang member comes back to life and attacks Jason, but is then killed, for sure. Chris then strikes Jason in the skull with an axe.
She gets into a canoe and drifts away. She wakes up by a shed and sees Jason unmasked start to come after her. He then vanishes, only for a decomposing Mrs. Voorhees to come out of the water and drag her down to the bottom. She is taken away by state troopers, hysterical as Jason's body lays in the barn and the lake is still.
Now for the rating scale:
Acting: 6 out of 10. Some better than others.
Entertainment: 6 out of 10. Some parts are comical when they shouldn't be, but its ok.

Directing: 5 out of 10. Standard.
Technical Credits: 7 out of 10. Well done effects and music.
Genre Fit: 6 out of 10. Some parts are sorta jump worthy, while others are comical.
MPAA Rating: 7 out of 10. Better than the last, but the violence is strong for an R rating.
Stupid Scenes: 5 out of 10. Some here and there.
Deeper Message: 1 out of 10. Nothing really.
Beginning: 19 out of 30. A slow start.
Middle: 23 out of 30. Gets better.

Final score: 108/180, or 60%. The very lowest B-, so that means its pretty good, or ok I guess.
