More than 100,000 without power in Northern Dallas

-If you were in the area, what would you do to help the people around you?

If I were in the area at the time I would do all I could to help everyone. I would want to check on my family first to make sure everything was okay then I would walk around and help people.

-If you knew the storm was coming would you stay or leave? and why?

If I knew that the tornado was coming I would more than likely leave and go to a safe place. However, if the news didn't know the tornado was coming until last min. then I would try to find a safe place in my house and make sure that everyone in it was safe too.

  • Good overall Chelsea. I think your sexond question could be better.

  • If I was in this area I think the first thing I would do is go to as many houses as possible and make sure people arent hurt from the storm and check that they have food water and shelter I would try and stay because you would be leaving everything behind if you left and I would take the chance of losing my house or it not getting hit by the storm.

  • I would make sure that my own family was okay, and then if I was in the area, I would also do all I could to help everyone. I'm guessing that the meteorologists had already known that a severe storm was coming, but they can't really know that a tornado will definitely come. You can't really know how bad a storm is going to be, so I would of just stayed.

    • I agree with you, I will always put my family first and then I would go and help other people with whatever they need. The news probably knew about the bad storm and maybe they were in a tornado watch and then the tornado came.

  • I would help them rebuild the things that were damaged, and also provide shelter/housing to the people who had lost their belongings, I would also provide clothing food and water for them also. I would definatly leave, there is no point in staying if you may get killed, I wouldn't take the risk of it, and I would trust in what the weather says and not get in the way of the tornado.

    • I agree with you I would do anything I can to help even if that means opening my house to people if it was still standing. I would give food and water away and make sure people have warm clothing.

  • If I knew that the storm was coming I would leave because I wouldn't want to risk something happening to my family. Also I wouldn't want to risk something happening like another Hurricane Harvey when that absolutely devastated the texas are back in 2017.

    • I agree with you because I wouldn't want to risk my life when I could leave because some house don't have a safe area in there house.

  • If I was in the surrounding area of the powerless people or people whos house were destoryed. I agree with your statement in saying I would look if my family needed any help I would prioritise them over anyone else that needed help. I would drive around and see If anyone needs any help.

    • I would for sure put my family first because they are important to me, then I would help out with other things.
