Should buying a gun be harder or not? This question can go either way for protection wise or danger wise. You might already be thinking it is too easy to get a weapon from a store, but what if I told you that you are wrong? That really it is difficult to get a pre-built manufactured weapon already, but obviously it is up for debate whether it should be harder or not.
The process of getting or buying a pre-built weapon is difficult. The steps get really personal. The biggest thing you need to do is fill out a Form 4473. This form is created by the ATF (The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms) that you need to sign every time when buying a weapon from an FFL (Federal Firearms Licensed dealer). When it comes to buying parts of a gun though is where it becomes touchy. In order to buy an upper (barrel and the firing assembly) of a gun it takes nothing. A lower of a gun you can buy privately, or can buy from a gun store which you have to do the same paperwork. People could just buy it privately and do no paperwork though. With that in mind the rest you only have to be 18+ to be ammo and you can just buy a magazine. This is a big problem because the only thing stopping you is if the guy you are buying the lower from trusts you.
In my opinion, building your own gun is fine with the right intention, but if not that information is upsetting because people can just basically buy a gun off the grid. I wish eventually this will have rules with it, but I doubt it will because you can’t just stop someone from buying a lower privately. Other than that the regular way to buy a gun at a store by filling out paperwork is just fine as it is because they go deep into your personal life like even height, weight, and even seeing if you had a criminal record or have a health problem, so all in all I think the paperwork way of buying a pre-built gun by a FFL is fine but the building of a weapon is just worrying with the wrong intentions.
Do you think there should be more restrictions on buying a firearm?
Do you think building a firearm “of the grid” is bad or fine?

Well done Xander! In your summary you talke mostyl about the challenges of building your own firearm but your title is about if there should be more restirictions on firearms. I think it's fine to talk about what you discussed but then perhaps change your title a bit.
I think that there shouldn't be more restrictions to buy a gun. I think that it is already complicated enough to have get one. That should be enough to deter any potential people wanting to use a gun in a harmful way. I don't think that building a firearm off the grid is a good thing. It should be registered just so that we can better protect you and others. As well as to make sure it doesn't fall into other people's hands.
I agree with you. The restrictions of buying a gun are already complicated enough as it is. I also agree that everything should be registered before anything is done with it.
There could always be more restrictions put onto gun/firearm purchasing. However, the way that firearms are sold now is very safe. You must have the right permits along with no criminal record. I think that something else they could add would be a mental health check before someone is allowed to buy a gun. If the person has depression they do not get to purchase one. I think it is bad to buy guns "off the grid" because it can be very dangerous. It could possibly lead to someone getting ripped offor someone getting arrested.
There could be more restrictions on firearms. If you take the right percautions though it should be safe. We need to encourage people to take the right percautions so the right people are getting guns. Of the gird guns are bad because they aren't regulated correctly.
I think that there shouldn't be more restrictions on fire arms it is hard enough to buy as is. And people like me that want to get AR we would be out of luck because there are people of high authority that want to get rid of them all together and that is not a good idea at all. I also think that building your own firearm is perfectly fine as long as your safe.
I agree with that statement. I think people should be able to purchase their own firearm at will if they have the proper identification that is, and building your own weapon is also fine if you are safe enough like you said.
I think having the backround check before anyone could buy a fire is good and making sure that person dosent have any warrents or can purchase from past crimes. I think building your own firearm is completly fine but I don't think building a tank or some massive gun that dosent involve a use is crazy and shouldn't be allowed unless it is in your state.
I think that there should be more restrictions on buying firearms because you can just purchase a gun from really anyone. Obviously, there are limitations and restrictions put into place to restrain people from buying a gun, but these restrictions don't usually come into play when buying from a private seller. Mental health isn't usually checked in these situations either, and that's a big issue. If someone who is buying a gun has serious mental health issues that would cause them to harm themselves or others, they should not be allowed to buy or own a gun.
I don't think there is anything wrong with the way they sell firearms today. Mainly because most people who buy guns are responsible with it. Obvously you shouldn't sell them to people who are dangerous with guns, but no matter what they will find their way to get their hands on one, so people should be able to buy them to protect themselves fro dangerous humans.
