After a flight from Dubai arrived in New York City on September 5th, all of the the passengers were sent to an isolated location due to nineteen passengers feeling ill. They were then screened and only ten of them were hospitalized. Throughout the past week, twelve passengers were checked out and released without any major problems. I believe that the reason they took precautionary measures is because of the experiences the U.S. has had in the past. One example of this is the ebola patient brought into the United States without the proper screening, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were notified about the event and they stated that, "the situation is not unusual, given that the flu is a year round virus". I feel safer knowing that there are processes in place to help to contain viruses from spreading.
What do you think the best way to minimize spreading germs on a plane?
Do you think that the government is right taking these kinds of precautionary measures?

Well done Miranda! Try to stay away from yes/no questions--rephrase them or ask to explain.
I think that hand washing stations would be a good idea on a plane or maybe even just a hand sanitizer station to reduce germs. I don't blame the government for taking these precautionary measures because we'd rather be safe then sorry.
the government is right about this. i think that passengers who are sick should not be let on the plane to get other people ill
Honestly It would be very hard to minimize spreading germs on a plane, besides if they didn't allow those with major dieases or illnesses on the plane with those who weren't sick, but that pry would not happen. They could also just make those feeling or ill wear mask so they didn't spread there germs to others. I do thing the government is right taking these precautions because they don't want an outbreak of a diease that could kill people to occur up again.
They need to screen everyone before gettting on a plane and also make them wash their hands. I think the goverment is in the right.
The best way to minimize germ spreading on a plane is to check their health records and to test them for diseases. I think the government is taking the right precautions because if it is a disease like ebola it could have a major spread throughout the United States or other countries.
I think it's by sanitizing everything and if a passenger is obviously sick, I think you should ask them if there's another time they can change their flight to when they aren't ill. Yes, I think so, it helps to ensure no diseases from over-seas places come in.
A good way to minimize germs on a plane is for someone who is sick to avoid contact with others. They could do their best not to touch sometime unless thay have to and wipe that surface down if they do touch it. They could also use a mask to reduce the number of germs in the air. It's just so hard to minimize the spread of germs on a plane since everyone is so close together and planes have such strict flying schedules that might not allow stewardists and such time to disinfect the plane before the next flight. Yes, I think that the government is right for taking these kinds of precautionary measures. A disease outbreak in our country would be terrible. With a large number of passengers on the flight feeling ill, it had to have been a red flag to them to further look into the matter.
I agree, I think people who know they are sick and are on a plane could wipe down whatever they use so they don't contaminate everything. I also agree that maybe the planes would be cleaner if the flight attendents were given more time to clean.
I think the best way to minimize spreading of germs on the plan would be to maybe have people wear masks if they are feeling sick that way they arnt caughing or anything and spreading germs. I think the government is right for taking the precautions they did because we don't want any foreign desiseas reaching our country then spreading.
