This is sad that this mom left her child in a cold car while she ran into the mall to return an item. According to the police report: the child had turned on the hazard lights and the car lights. Police stated that the child had 11 coins in her mouth when she was removed from the car. The mom was only cited on suspicion of child neglect. Do you think the mom should have had more charges?

WOW. thats all i can say is, wow. she knows that its against the law to leave your child unattended in a car. I wonder why they found that the child had 11 coins in its mouth. i understand running into somewhere to drop something off quick but saying your returning something then not coming back for your child is not okay.
This is wrong. I know she went to "return an idem" and her daughter was "sleeping" but the kid is two. They wil wake up when they have that feeling their mom's not there. Then, they do things like honk the horn, turn on hazard lights, car lights and put 11 coins in their mouth. Just don't do it.

Who just leaves there kid in the car while its cold outside? She should get a lot more charges because this is just plain horrible. She should have brought the child with her.
I think she should get more charges it was dumb or her to leave her kid in a care alone at all and especially when its cold out i think she is a terrible person!
I my goodness! This is horrible! It's illegal to leave a child in a car as it is. As cold as it is, that shouldn't even have crossed the mothers mind. If the child is little enough to be dumb enough to stick coins in there mouth than what if the child thought it would be fun to play and accsedently drive it. That kid could have chocked. That is absuletly horrible. She needs to have charges pressed on her.
She should have had more charges and she should join parenting classes. She should not have done that.
This mom should be charged, because you should never leave a young child by themselves. That child could have been injured, or even kidnapped. This lady should have never left her child in the car.

I think that it depends on how old the child was, but considering this is a toddler, I wouldn't leave my child in the car alone. I don't think the charges were to much. It all depends on how long the mother was in the store.
Yes! It's crazy that someone would leave their child in a cold car. I don't really know what else she could be charged with, but those charges don't seem very serious and she should have to pay more consequences.
