Mollie Tibbetts was a normal 20 year old college student at the Unitversity of Iowa. No one would ever expect a small town girl to be pronounced missing after going for a morning jog. But as we all know, she was murdered and found in a cornfield not far from home. It has been discovered that her murderer is an illegal immigrant from Mexico. Unfortunatley, this discovery has fueled a political debate between the Republicans and the Democrats as mid-term elections are nearing. Presidant Trump tweeted, "A person came in from Mexico illegally and killed her. We need the wall, we need our immigration laws changed, we need our border laws changed." He also said, "We need Republicans to do it, because the Democrats aren't going to do it." There has been much discussion and debate between the two parties prior to Mollie Tibbetts, concerning immigration laws and building the wall. Tibbetts' family doesn't want Mollie's death to be used in a political manner, but rather have her remembered for who she was. However, her story is very known and is continuing to be used as bait for the upcoming mid-term election.

I think that they do. It definetly supports his points in why we need stricter immagration laws and if he thinks that putting up a wall would help with that, then we should see his points. I think that maybe Trump could first show a little more compasion, because immagrant or not, it was still a murder!
I agree that we do need to be more strict about immigration laws but i also think that Trump should be a little more respectful about the whole thing.
I do think that President Trump and the Republican party should have the right to use this to their advantage because then they can finally show the Democrats why the wall is needed. If he didn't come here ILLEGALLY she never would've been killed. If he went through the process of becoming a citizen they would've been able to do a background check on him to see if he had any mental illnesses. I think he is handling her murder appropriately like any other politician because he hasn't made any rude comments about her or her family and has paid his respect to her and her family.
I do agree about the point that if he never came here illegally this wouldn't have happened. However I think using her death politically is disrespectful towards her and her family.
I really don't think they should use it as something to help them because it is a serious matter for the family and its just not right to do that. Even though it is a big deal that she was killed he is making it a big deal and is using it in the wrong way because she was killed by an illegal immigrant.
I don't feel like it is right to use this right after her death. A white american man could have killed her. Honestly, if people really wanted to stop the wall there would be more going on. So, this being a big issue that he is using it as an advantage isnt right. The wall is going to happen it's already being built. There are many other deaths in the world. Just because an unamerican killed her it doesn't have to be like this.
I completely agree. I think they shouldn't have the right to use this to their advantage especially because Mollie's family doesnt like how they are using her death politically.
I believe that it is not right for the man that murdered her to be in the country since he is illegaly in the US. However, since the family has spoken out about the fact that they don't want Mollie's death to be used in politics the government needs to support that. But people in the US need realise that the murder of Mollie was an illegal immigrant and if he had not got in the US Mollie would still be alive today.
I agree and like the way you stated this. I think the governemnt should support that her family doesn't want her death to be brought into politics. I also think you greatly worded that she would still be alive today if he wouldn' thave been here illegally. I think the governemnt has a right to give it as an example, while also using other cases but I think they are too aggressive with how they are using it tp their advantage.
