missionary killed

The missionary john allen chau was last seen by fishermen when the native people shot him with a bow and arrow and buried his body. This has not been the first time the native have killed outsiders too. In 2006, the native kill two fishermen, but their bodies were recovered. All outside people are not allowed within 5 nautical miles (2025 yards, around the island), the india’s navy patrols that to keep outsiders out. But john allen chau decided to get a boat and travel illegally to the island with a group of people to change the religion to christianity. They stopped half way at and in the morning john allen chau traveled by canoe to the island and returned with a arrow injury. He returned to the island and the islanders broke his canoe and he swam back. He went back to the island and he didn’t return from his third trip.

  1. Why do you think john allen chau continued to go to the island after getting shot by the arrow?

I think he wanted to convert the island to christianity and would take no for an answer.

     2) why do you think the native people rejected john allen chau and killed him when he return after the third time?

I think the native wanted to keep their island isolated and stay to their culture and not take up another.

  • Fine overall but be sure to work on capitalizing words that should be. Yout title could also be better and capitalized.

  • I think he did so because he was avid to change the natives into chrisitians and bring civilization to them. I think they rejected and killed him because he osed a threat to their native beleifs.

  • I think he wanted medical help and he also wanted to tell and teach them his religious beliefs he follows, but the natives didn't want to listen to him.It said the artical they wanted to keep outsiders out and the outsiders were not suppose take a boat or canoe to other islands, the natives were only aloud to do this.

  • I swear this man had a death wish. I must appreciate his determination but his goal was like a suicide mission. It's best to leave untouched people alone.

    • I agree with leaving the native people in peace.

  • He really must have been set in his ways by converting them to christianity but if they did that kind of stuff to him two times it really isn't surprising that they killed him. It is their territory and they are defending it like they always have.

    • thats a good veiw on it, its not a big shock that they killed him

  • I think he wanted to do good although he was in trouble. He probably didn't want to go home after coming all this way. I think the Native people don't want people on their land and changing their beliefs so after the third time, they shot him,

    • I agree with that the native people just wanted to live in peace with out the worry of the outside world coming in and taking over their way of life

  • I think why he wanted and kept continueing is becuase he wanted to get message aross etc. I think why they killed him is becuse its a mysterious man keep tresspassing and bothering them.
