After a week of missing, Craig Strickland has been found dead. He went missing in a powerful winter storm. Craig had gone hunting with his friend, Chase Morland, at Kaw Lake in Oklahoma during the storm. The storm consisted of rain, sleet, snow, and 45 mph winds with wind chills as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. Craig's friend had acknowledged the danger of being out in the storm in a tweet. The tweet said "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm." Approximately 2 days later, they found Morland's body. The boat they had been hunting in had turned over, but Craig's dog was found alive. They both had died due to drowning.
Questions:
1. How would you react if you had found both these men dead? What would you do?
2. Since they knew they were in danger, why do you think they stayed out there? How would you of made a better decision?

Good job Whitney!
Finding two men dead would be scary and would be shocking. I think I would call the cops and wait for them to how up. They must have really wanted to go duck hunting. I think the tweet sounds kind of sarcastic, so maybe they didn't actually know they were in complete danger. I do think that I would not have gone out in those conditions.
I would have been in complete shock because I didn't know how they had died. Immediately, I would call the police and tell them I had found the two men dead. I assume that the men had a passion for shooting ducks no matter had bad the weather was. Perhaps they wanted to take on the weather as a challenge. A better decision would've been to simply not go.
I definetly would freak out. I would call the police to come. I think that they didn't cared a lot they might thought that they go back soon and didn't realize the severity of the storm. Making a better decision would be when you just stay home or when the weather change that you go on the fastets way back home.
I would probably freak out if I found two dead guys. After I calmed down from freaking out, I would call the cops. I think they didn't realize the severity of the storm or they just didn't care. My better decision would have been to not go out at all, knowing that there was a dangerous storm coming.
I agree. My other thought was, maybe the meteorologist have predicted the storm to be not so bad so maybe they weren't very prepared by all of this severe weather.
I would probably freak out. I mean, it is two people who aren't living anymore. I would call 911 and have them come take care of it. I don't know why they stayed out there but they definitely wouldn't have stayed out in the storm especially in the cold. To me, it almost sounds like he knew they were going to die with what he tweeted out.
I agree, maybe they didn't think that the storm would be this bad but then it happened to be and they just didn't know what to do anymore. I'm not sure, I think I would've done everything I could to get out of there.
I would be really scared to find two dead bodies, and I would definitely call the cops right away. I don't know why they went out when they knew that there was a storm. They should have waited until the storm passed to go hunting a different day.
I don't think they knew how severe the storm was going to be. I think they thought that it would've just been a small snow storm that would eventually pass. Obviously that was not the case. I would've gone back to the cabin (if they were staying in one) and waited it out. My regards go out to the family. Very sad.
