Missing child found 13 years later

13 years ago a child was reported missing in Alabama by his mother when he was 5 years old. On November 5th Julian Hernandez was found safe and unharmed in Cleveland, Ohio. It was suspected that his father Bobby Hernandez, took him. It was part of a noncustodial parental abduction.

The base broke loose when Julian was 18 doing what most seniors do, applying for college. Prosecuters said that colleges ran into problems when they could not verify his social security number. His school counselor worked with him to try adn figure out why and the counselor found out that he was on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Childern database. Julian's dad Bobby Hernandez was arrested and sent to jail.

My opinion is that the dad does deserve to go to jail for the crimes he committed. It was very wrong for him to do that he needs to serve his time.

Do you think the dad deserved to go to jail?

How would you feel if your child was abducted by someone who was close to you?

  • Good job but be sure to hyperlink correctly.

  • I think the father deserves to go to jail. I do think though that he shouldn't have lost all custody privileges because obviously took good care of him for 13 years.

  • I'm happy that the kid was able to find the truth out about who he really is. He's been lied to his entire life by his father about where he came from. I agree that this man deserves some time behind bars.

  • I think he deserves to go to jail he kidnapped a child, even if it was the father.  I would be very angry if someone I knew stole my child and I wouldn't want them ever see my child again.

  • If he kidnapped him then yes but why dident the boy ever say anything to anyone?

I would go to the ends of the earth to find him or her and who ever took then would never see the light of day again.

  • I think that the dad should be punished, but not with jail time. Julian was found, "safe and unharmed". What the dad did was wrong, and the situation could have been handled a lot differently, but it could have turned out a lot worse. The dad could have abused Julian, when really he just wanted to be apart of his son's life and that isn't a crime, it's the way he went about it that is.

    • I disagree think the mother would want him to go to jail because what if he was punished by not seeing and and wasn't in jail I feel like he would be mad and this time kidnap the child because he was taken away from him and harm him this time. So I think he should be in jail

  • Yes, he deserves to go to jail because he took the child from his mother and she never saw him for 13 years and probably thought that he was dead. I would feel like they betrayed me and would try anything to find the child and not wait for 13 years.

    • Yes I agree with you he needs to serve his time for what he did, and because he hurt so many people.

  • Yes I think that he deserves to go to jail. I would be very angry and hated towards the person who abducted my child.
