A lot of people think that the minimum wage is so low that people can’t make a living off, and people can’t pay their bills. There are many pros and cons to raising the minimum wage. I feel that if we raise the minimum wage to the right amount a lot of people will be happy and satisfied with it.
What are the pros and cons? The pros of raising it are that it will reduce the amount of poverty since the people in poverty don’t have enough money to support themselves. Another big pro is that with this day and age inflation is going up, and it’s not going back down. With us raising the minimum wage it will then keep up with inflation. Some cons would be that small businesses may not be able to pay the employees the set amount, and may have to lay off their employees. Another con might be that the price of goods may go up, so these businesses can support their employees.
I believe the minimum wage should be raised from 7.25 to around 10 dollars. I feel this way because in this day and age it is hard to afford anything if you only get paid $7.25. Therefore I feel it should be raised a few dollars, so people can afford things for themselves.
Do you think the minimum wage should be raised? Why or why not?
How much do you think the minimum wage should be raised? And Why?

Good job overall Dana! I do think your summary could have been longer by educating people more on both sides of the issue.
Minimum wage was never designed to be a living wage, and even increasing it to $15 an hour still wouldn't get a lot of people by today. However, in the near future most if not all minimum wage jobs right now will become automated, either with AI or other technologies. This means that increasing minimum wage, while still a good idea in the short term within the long term it'll become obsolete. Companies will move to automation because they won't have to pay anyone anymore, just have a robot do it for them. If minimum wage were to be raised, it would be raised to $15 to compensate for the growing inflation while still keeping the fundamental idea of a minimum wage isn't and shouldn't be a living wage.
Yes we all want minumun wage to rise but we have to look into how this affects any small bussiness. Many businesses already have enough problems with this. They may lose many more staff members to this. But i think if it does go up then it needs to go up slowly.
Of course I think the minimum wage should be increased. People are moving from jobs that don't pay well, like waiting tables or cashering, to jobs that actually pay well. This is why there seems to be a labor shortage. If these jobs had to pay a living wage, then people would stay at these low paying jobs. No, prices at buisnesses should not skyrocket.

I think that if they try and raise the minimum wage the prices of everything will go up and then we will be back to where it started before they raised the wage. I personally think that if the wages got raised everything would raisse and then people would want it to raise again and then their is just no point.
I think the minimum wage should be increased due to inflation of goods over the years. Since prices of goods keep going up but yet your wage is not. The minimum wage has not gone up at all since 2009 so how are people supposed to live the same they have been without working a lot more.
I think the minimum wage should be raised because of all the rising in prices. Companies are making more money now because of the recent increase in inflation so it would make sense for the minimum wage to rise along with any increase in prices.
I think that the minimum wage should stay the same because if it doesn't, small businesses will struggle. If the minimum wage was going to change, it should go slowly so that way the businesses won't struggle to pay their employees. They could start from $8, and slowly increase from there.
I think that the minimum wage should be raised because people that started back before the new workers started at is $9.50. Now, people that start today are getting more then $12.50. So, I think all the wages should go up for the people that are moving out of their parents house, so they need money of the rent or payment for the landlord.
I believe the minimum wage should be raised because it is hard to pay the things you need to pay and the things you need to get like food and basic human needs because a lot of people do not get many hours and definitley not enough to pay off things with only making minimum wage. I think the minimum wage should be raised to about $9.50 to $10.00
