A second winter storm in less than a week has Midwestern residents bracing for bitter subzero wind chills while those in the East Coast hunker down amid a fresh coat of snowfall. I don't deal well in the cold so I hope that this doesn't last very long and they are saying the wind chill could drop below -50 which could very easily cause frostbite if outside too long. It is also supposed to snow a lot this week which could also cause more problems.
The only good thing about the bad weather is that there is a chance for no school and I think we can all agree on that. Officials across the country are urging people to stay home for any non-essential business and keep off the roads for their own safety, with the weather causing impaired visibility and hazardous conditions. Slightly warmer days are on the horizon, however. Temperatures are expected to begin rising on Sunday afternoon, with only a few daily low temperature records forecasted as the week progresses.
Definetly people need to be prepared for these drastic temperature changes and everyone should dress appropriatly. Frostbite can set in on exposed skin within 10 minutes of being out in temperatures that severe, according to the agency. Another issue that could happen is peoples cars not being able to start in the cold and if that happens to you then you should ask someone else to give you rides to places or take a bus.
What other issues could arise from these subzero temperatures?
Do you know anyone who has been affected badly from the previous snow storms?

Just about every time I have gone on the interstate there has been many cars on the side of the rode. These crashes look really bad too and a few times I have seen ambulence's rushing to the crash because there is a serious injury.
I agree with this because people can have many accendents with the bad weather and also people don't need to be driving in this weather. With others on the road it is very dangerous. When people don't have 4 wheel drive it makes it difficult.
I think that a lot of people could get in accidents which would then lead to frostbite. I don't know of anyone who has been seriously affected by these snowstorms because a lot of people were at home doing nothing.
I agree with you because accidents definetly could lead to frostbite and that is why people need to prepare because you never know when you could get in a crash. I'd say most people most likely didn't have anyone close to them affected because like you said, they were at home.
I think the sub-zero temps could become a real problem if we don't take the necessary precautions to staying warm. All we need to do is to stay in our homes when we can and wear plenty of layers when you are outside. Personally my only huge problem is my car not starting but obviously much bigger problems could arise.
I agree the cold in the midwest can often be unbearable. Some other issues that could arise from this frigid week could include, Bursting water pipes which can be extremely costly and inconvenient, and slower delivery services with places such as amazon. Which can be inconvenient and annoying.
There are many problrms that can erupt becasue of these subzero temperatures like slower delivery and transportation of food or medical help. which can be big deal in bigger communities with elders needing support and food being delivered to markets for people to buy.
I think this is going to cause a lot of problems with traveling. Frostbite isn't the only thing that will affect people in these storms I've seen lots of car in the ditch from the last snow storm but personally I do not know anyone affected by the last snow storm. I think it would be smart to stay inside as much as you can with these low tempatures.
That is good advice when you said it would be smart to stay inside as much as you can because these temperatures are dangerous and could kill you. I also agree with you when you said that this is going to cause lots of problems with traveling.
Bad weather like this can cause so many problems. Not only do people get frostbite and things like that but i've seen car wrecks and people in a ditch with their car flipped. I think it would just be best for everyone that when the weather is this bad to just stay inside if possible. But if it isn't and people have emergencies or HAVE to be at work, then to be extremely careful.
