A second winter storm in less than a week has Midwestern residents bracing for bitter subzero wind chills while those in the East Coast hunker down amid a fresh coat of snowfall. I don't deal well in the cold so I hope that this doesn't last very long and they are saying the wind chill could drop below -50 which could very easily cause frostbite if outside too long. It is also supposed to snow a lot this week which could also cause more problems.
The only good thing about the bad weather is that there is a chance for no school and I think we can all agree on that. Officials across the country are urging people to stay home for any non-essential business and keep off the roads for their own safety, with the weather causing impaired visibility and hazardous conditions. Slightly warmer days are on the horizon, however. Temperatures are expected to begin rising on Sunday afternoon, with only a few daily low temperature records forecasted as the week progresses.
Definetly people need to be prepared for these drastic temperature changes and everyone should dress appropriatly. Frostbite can set in on exposed skin within 10 minutes of being out in temperatures that severe, according to the agency. Another issue that could happen is peoples cars not being able to start in the cold and if that happens to you then you should ask someone else to give you rides to places or take a bus.
What other issues could arise from these subzero temperatures?
Do you know anyone who has been affected badly from the previous snow storms?

I agree
There is a lot of things that would arise due to the bad weather conditions, like, people would not be able to go to any essentail places. Something that could also happen is more crashes with people not staying inside with bad weather.
I think people should maybe stock up on food a little bit. They shouldn't go crazy with it and buy way to much though. They should do this because like you said, people would not be able to go to any essential places and the store is definetly an essential place.
I think this is going to have so many problems with traveling. When temperatures get as high as this, there are many accidents. I have not been personally affected by this. However, when I drive to the city, I see many cars lie in the ditch. Frostbite is also very scary. I hope those that are stuck in their cars make it out as soon as possible.
I think with these freezing temperatures there could be lots of problems that happen. But I the roads are going to be very bad. I think of lots of ice and snow. This could cause lots of accidents. I know some people from around here that have already been in crashes.
Obviously living in Iowa this isn't our first time having subzero temperatures, but when having these temperatures nothing good usually comes from them. Usually having these kinds of temperatures comes with a lot of snow and ice, whcih can cause a lot of car accidents. I don't know of anyone specifically or recently that has got in a crash because of the weather and I hope it stays that way.
When I think of cold tempatures I think of ice, with these sub zero tempatures I think there is going to be a lot of ice and cause a lot of crashes. Which could be very dangerous. I don't know anyone specific but iv'e heard people in the community that have got in some acidents.
There is many other issues that could arise from the subzero tempetures and one of the issues is the accidents that could eaisly happen. The roads in this type of weather are awful and I honestly think that they should shut down a bunch of the roads so many people won't get hurt.
There is also the chance of a rise in accidents since there will be strong winds, slick roads, and low visibility it is going to make it a lot easier to end up in a ditch or get into an accident. There are also people that have to feed or bed down livestock in the weather so they will also have to deal with the stong winds and snow.
I agree with you when you mentioned there could be low visibilty because that is a factor that could lead to crashes and get someone hurt. Which then leads to them having to sit in the freezing cold. I also agree with you about the how some people have to deal with livestock and issues could arise from the weather.
