In rememberance of 9/11, the New York Mets wanted to commemorate the day by wearing hats with NYPD and FDNY and a small embroidered American flag on the side during their game against the Chicago Cubs. The MLB, however, wouldn't allow this. When the Mets walked out onto the feild after the pre-game activities, they were told that the team would be hammered with a heavy fine if they continued to wear them. I think it's rediculous that the MLB wouldn't allow the Mets to wear their commermorative gear on Sunday's game. What do you think?

Seriously? They want to remember all the victims from 9/11, but MLB won't let them? This isn't right, you should be able to remember all the victims and there familes. Plus all the police officiers and firefighters who saved so many people.
This is crazy. We are trying to remember the soldiers that died on this date 10 years ago. I don't think that the MLB did the right thing here. When I was watching football during Week 1 I saw those hats on most of the head coaches, defensive coordinators, offensive coordinators, and special teams coaches.
I think they should have let them. They were being respectful to their country. I don't see why the people trying to fine them didn't understand that themselves?
I think that is stupid that the MLB wouldn't let the Mets wear that but the day after 9/11/01 the Mets beat the Braves 3-2 and then the Mets was wearing NYPD items
I think this is crazy! They did the same thing for the NFL, because a lot of the players wanted to wear American gloves & shoes but were told they would be fined!
