What is the “me too” movement? The movement was founded in 2006 but didn’t really go online till 2017. It's a movement against sexual assault and harassed. Many actresses opened up about their experiences with sexual assault or harassment, It's in a film called industry. It's actresses such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Lawrence, and Uma Thurman, along with others that have spoke up about their experience with sexual harassment. Not only do celebrities get assaulted or harassed, many other just regular people get assaulted or harassed. Regular everyday people have also spoken up and are a part of the movement.
Tarana Burke was the founder of the movement. She started the movement in 2006 for people who have been suexul assaulted or harassed. 11 years later, Alyssa Milano made a tweet that went viral. Alyssa who spoke up and accused Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault. That is what made the “me too” movement take off. This movement has earned a large response in part because of sexual assult and sexual harassment. This impacts peoples lives everyday. By sharing there own stories, people can understand how common sexual harassment is.
I think this is a great movement. People should be allowed to stand up for what they think is right. Assault or haeassment is not a good thing and it's amazing that people can stand up and say that they've been assaulted. It's a very sad and horrible thing but this movement shows people that they are not alone and people are always here to support one another.

I think that this movement needed to be started. When women are sexually assualted it's hard to come out about it. A lot of people will say women are lying or that they asked for it. This movement really creates a safe place for women to speak openly about their experinces with sexaul aasult.
