McCarthy backtracks Benghazi comments

Kevin McCarthy the leading candidate to succeed John Boehner as house speaker. McCarthy tried to walk back on Thursday comments about the investigation into the 2012 Benghazi terror attack. The committee was set up for one sole purpose, to find the truth on behalf of our families for four dead Americans. This committee was only meant to get the truth out. The sole purpose of the committee was to find the truth about the four dead Americans. That is the work that was done, that is the hearings they have done. McCarthy also told Baier that he predicts that he will get the votes for house speaker. Then he starts to talk about Hillary Clinton and how her numbers are dropping and how everyone thinks she is unbeatable but she is not.Because she is untrustable.

My thoughts: I think that McCarthy is playing this smart about the committee and how it only had one sole purpose, and that was to find out the truth of the four dead Americans. Also how he brings in Hillary Clinton into the subject and how she is not unbeatable and how her numbers are dropping.

Why is do you think McCarthy was for sure he could beat Clinton for house speaker
