Today is the 14th annual night that the Mavericks have invited wounded soldiers to come to their game. They are flying in around 120 wounded soldiers and giving them courtside seats and a fancy 4-course meal. The Mavericks believe that we wouldn't be able to enjoy the game of basketball without soldiers risking their lives to fight for us. The Mavericks team and staff takes the soldiers to a couple different restaurants before the game starts. In addition to buying tickets for the wounded soldiers, they also bought 1,000 tickets for veterans to come and support. This is their way of saying thank you for all that the soldiers and veterans have done and still do for us.
Do you think other teams for other sports will start doing this, if so why?
I think other teams will start doing this. It is a great cause and shows their appreciation for everybody that has fought for our country and those that still do fight for us. Although they aren't making a lot of money for this, it is very good thing to do. It shows the veterans and soldiers how much we care about them.
How do you think that the veterans and soldiers feel about teams doing this for them?
I think that they feel very good that people care about them so much. The soldiers and veterans work ethic will never go unnoticed. Not many people recognize those that have fought for our country. They probably felt very welcomed that the Mavericks have been doing this for them.

I don't think that they will, just becasue this is the 14th year the Mavericks have done it, and look they are still pretty much the only ones doing it, although it is a nice thing to do. I think that they are very appreaciative of this, becasue veterans do a lot for the country and so it is nice for them to get something in return.
I think they would, because what they are doing is great and maybe the other teams may want to follow and, help out the the veterans and soldiers that might not have a lot of money to afford food or be able to watch the game. Even though they don't make a lot of moeny it is a wonderful task to take on and it show that we care and love the people of out country. I think, the veterans and soldiers feel very happy that this team is doing this for them.
I agree that more teams will/should start doing this because it shows their appreciation for the veterans and soldiers. I agree that the veterans and soldiers appreciate this and feel good that people care about them and are willing to recognize them.
Yeah I think that too. Veterans do so much for us, and they deserve everything in the world. This is our way of showing that we appreciate them and everything that they have done for our country. I think other teams should start doing things like this too!
I think other teams will start doing this. It shows that teams care for the veterans and soldiers and is a good form of respect. I feel like veterans feel glad that there getting the recognation of their action. They probably feel thanked and honored becasue they serverded for our freedome
I think that too! Veterans need any respect they can get. A lot of the veterans are in bad shape, and they need all the hope and support that they are able to get. They most likely feel thanked and very proud to be apart of our country.
I do think that many other teams will do this because it shows that it is a great cause and it shows our support and appreciation for our veterans. I think that the Veterans and soldiers were happy because they see how many people still support them and care for them. I think that they felt very welcome when thsi whole thing was done jsut for them.
Soldiers give us everything in this world, and it's only fair if we help them out too. They spend a lot of time protecting us and their families too. Some veterans never get to see their families. Yeah I think they would be emotional to if a team did this.
1)I do think teams will start doing this more often. It shows great towards all that fought for our country and still do. Money isnt always everything. Its the good things we do that we need at the end of the day.
2) I agree i think they will appreciate how much others care for them. Everyone loves being appreciated
