On January 23, NASA got a mosaic of a dozen selfies from their rover named Curiosity that is currently on Mars. In the picture, it is at work exploring the Martian world. Its location is in the Vera Rubin Ridge, which is around a thousand feet up Mount Sharp. Mount Sharp is 3.4 miles high, which is two miles shorter than Mount Everest. In the picture, the peak of the mountain is visible just behind the rover. Curiosity landed on Mars in August of 2012 in the center of the 96 mile wide Gale Crater that the mountain lies in. In September of 2014, it started to climb its way around the foothills of Mount Sharp and has been doing that ever since. The photo was taken with the rover's 7 foot long, flexible arm. The arm isn't visible in the photos, which makes it look like something else took the pictures. One of the photos is below.
1. If you worked at NASA, how would you react to seeing these pictures?
2. If you were given the chance to go to Mars, would you and what would you want to do there?
My answer: I would be thrilled to see that the rover we sent is still working and is giving us feedback. I would also feel great to know what kind of work we're doing for humanity. If I could go to Mars, I would walk around on the ground for awhile and look around and explore on foot to find out what kind of amazing things that were waiting to be discovered that the rovers hadn't found yet.

Well done! Be sure to keep replying throughout the week.
If I worked at NASA, I would be extremely happy about recieving feedback from a rover. I personally wouldn't want to go to Mars because I don't think it is a huge deal in that there is much more things to worry about on Earth.
1) I would think that it is very cool and I would be very happy and it would be a good time.
2) I would go and I would do everything I could do while I was there.
I would also be very excited to see that exploation is still happening and the rover is still at work. I also think it would be cool to just see a picture from space. I would most certainly go to Mars. If I went to Mars I would just want to explore the landscape and just get a feel for the planet.
I would be laughing at it because it's cool to find out that the rover is taken selfies. If I had a chance to go to Mars i probrally would not because I'm not a fan of flying in an airplane so flying in a space shuttle would not be fun for me.
I would be shocked to know that this is a real photo from the rover, and I would also be very excited to see them and know that the rover we sent a while ago to Mars is still functioning. If I were given the chance to go to Mars, I think I would just start walking around and exploring to find new things.
1. In the first moment I would probably think that one of my co-workers would have made a bad joke but after realizing that this is real ( even though it doesn't look like the rover took the photo), I would have been shocked.
2. If there would also be a chance to back to earth after a visit to Mars, I would totally do it just to walk around and look for the environmental differences and of course, to enjoy the view. If I would have to stay there forever, I would not do it.
I would be shocked and confused as well as humored by this, I would be pleased that this rover still worked and that we are getting feedback from this device. I would study the elemental componets and makeup as well as the new terrian in general seeing the different elements and how they naturally bond in that element would be really intresting.
If I got the chance to go to Mars I would want to take my time and explore the planet. There are clearly many differences between Earth and Mars. I would want to find out how different living organisms would react to the envirornment on Mars.
I would think it rather peculiar
I wouldn't mostly because I don't have an interest to go to space
