Maroon 5 Faces Backlash For Their Performance

On Thursday, February 29, Maroon 5 was to be playing at a song festival in Chile. This event was referred to as Viña del Mar. They showed up 30 minutes later to their set. This event made many fans upset. One fan reported that Levine "lacked energy to interact with the audience." Levine then posted on Instagram saying "[the] fans deserve an explanation. He then went on saying how his feelings got the best of him. The band's representatives blamed this issue on technical difficulties. "While we can't always make up for our past, we can absolutely try our best to learn from it ... thank you Chile for giving me the opportunity to grow," Levine said.

Questions:

1. If you were at this concert and was waiting for 30 minutes would you have stayed?

Although it was a long time to wait, I think it would have gone by fast. All of the adrenaline in me would make time fly by.

2. If this situation happened to you, would you still be a fan?

Yes. Everybody goes through rough times. The fact that he even showed up shows how much he loves to share his music.

    • That's exactly what I believe would happen if I were to be put into this type of situation. Depending on where you sit(closer to the stage), it'll cost more.

  • yes, me personally would have stayed and not wasted my money on nothing, i would have just waited for them to show up i would not be that mad. yes i would still be a fan even if this happened to me. just because they showed up late would not have ruined any music.

    • I agree with you. Time would have flyed by anyways. People were there trying to have a good time and listen to music they love. And the received a good show. Personally I would have just thought it was another good concert experience.

  • I personally think that if a band shows up 30 min late that its not good for their fans and that a bunch of people would leave

Yes even though a band shows up late you can't be mad because you don't know if their lives and what goes on

    • I do agree with you. It is bad for their reputation, but I don't think many fans would leave. People deal with personal issues all the time. This might have not been the right time for one, but you can never control that.

  • Yes, I would have stayed at the concert even if the performance was 30 minutes delayed because concerts are really expensive and I would not like to spend all of that money only for it to be wasted. Yes, I would still be a fan. One bad concert would not ruin their music for me.

    • Yes. I totally agree with you. 30 minutes would go by fast due to the excitement you'll have. They tend to have some really good music, so even if one concert didn't go as planned I would still go to many more.
