Maroon 5 Faces Backlash For Their Performance

On Thursday, February 29, Maroon 5 was to be playing at a song festival in Chile. This event was referred to as Viña del Mar. They showed up 30 minutes later to their set. This event made many fans upset. One fan reported that Levine "lacked energy to interact with the audience." Levine then posted on Instagram saying "[the] fans deserve an explanation. He then went on saying how his feelings got the best of him. The band's representatives blamed this issue on technical difficulties. "While we can't always make up for our past, we can absolutely try our best to learn from it ... thank you Chile for giving me the opportunity to grow," Levine said.

Questions:

1. If you were at this concert and was waiting for 30 minutes would you have stayed?

Although it was a long time to wait, I think it would have gone by fast. All of the adrenaline in me would make time fly by.

2. If this situation happened to you, would you still be a fan?

Yes. Everybody goes through rough times. The fact that he even showed up shows how much he loves to share his music.

  • Yeah I probably would of stayed because I put money into going to see this band and wouldn't of wanted to waste it. Probably but I would not be happy at all and would want them to be more resposible.

  • I probably would have stayed just because I already paid for the ticket and I probably didn't have anything else better to do so why not just wait and see what happens. I would definetly still be a fan because you have to be able to understand that feelings can get in the way of things.

  • Nobody can ever always be on time, and while some would like to think not we are all humans and not perfect. I think it's ridiculous that poeple feel they have the right ot be mad at people that for dumb reasons.

  • Personally I don't think that the 30 minute wait is that much. Obviously I would be getting impatient and would be wondering when the concert would be starting but I definitely would not want to leave. I mean, I figure it is normal that concerts basically never start directly on time. Again, 30 minutes really is not that long so yes, I would still be a big fan. I really would not see why people are so upset about this and getting really bent out of shape. This just seems like a really petty reason to start a debate.

  • I don't think 30 minutes is that long to wait. A while ago, I mean when like parents were in like there 20's, there were concert where you would just pay for addmission and it was first come, first serve for seats. At these concerts, you could ended up waiting for 4-5+ hours so you could get a good spot. So, if you think of that, then 30 minutes is not that long.

  • Yes, I would have stayed because big bands like that because people have problems and delays so he might have been busy. I would still be a fan because if your really liked them, you would be happy that they even showed up for the festival to perform there music

  • I think when you have thousands of people at a concert, and you were the one that scheduled the concert, then I believe you have no excuse to be late with people waiting there. I think, if they ended up giving the show and it was great than I would still be a fan. And they deserve another chance especially since they are the one with the talent.

  • If I was at a concert I would've stayed because 30 minutes isn't a whole lot of time and I would not let the money I paid go to waste. I would've only left if they offered a full refund. Yes I would, Waiting 30 minutes isn't bad and sometimes things happen and you just can't get there on time.

  • yes i would stay unless they offered a full refund i would be very upset with this place becasue if i made plans for it and it took a lot longer than expected it would make me mad. yes i would just not go to the concerts anymore, some people might not want to be a fan anymore though.

  • I wouldn't have gone to a Maroon 5 concert in the first place and I definitely wouldn't have waited 30 minutes for them to be late. It makes since that they wouldn't really care about their fans though because of the massive amount of popularity and money and fame that they have.
