Man Yells the Pro-Nazi Salute During Performance

During a performance of "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Baltimore theatre, a man yelled the pro-Nazi salute, "Heil Hitler!" When the man yelled this, it caused a disruption in the crowd. The security of the Baltimore theatre went and removed the man and the show continued ten minutes later. Kasey Chisholm was at the theatre when this happened, she said  "Many Jewish families were around our seats and were visibly shaken." I think that Jewish families were shaken because of recent events that have happened in the Jewish community.

If you were at the Baltimore theatre when this happened, what would you do?

If I were to be at the Baltimore theatre when this happened, I would leave immediately because I would feel threatened by the pro-Nazi salute.

Do you think it is a coincidence that this happened after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting?

I don't think this is a coincidence because I feel that people see other things like this happening and it encourages them to do something relevant to get publicity.

  • Well done Macie!

  • If i were in the theatre I would Ignore what they said even though I might feel a little unsafe around the area at that moment. I think it is because it all started happening after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.

  • I would probably leave if he wasn't removed. I don't really think this is a coincidence after the Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting because sadly, the man probably was encouraged by it.

  • I would probably not react too much, other than be really internally uncomfortable, just becasue if someone yells something evil like that, I think that it would unsettle most people. I think that it probably is a coincidence, and I suspect that it was ment as a bad joke rather than trying to actually make a point.

  • I would try and ignore it and continue to watch the play

I dont think so because its just a bunch of stupid people who think it is funny to do things like that

  • If I were at the Baltimore theatre when a man yelled the pro-Nazi salute, I would be scared and surprised. I think that I would probably look for someplace safe and make sure that nothing bad was going to happen. After the man was removed, I think I would check around to see if people were okay.

    • I would definitely feel the same way that you would. I think I would leave the theatre if this had happened while I was there because I would feel unsafe and you wouldn't know if anyone else who might be associated with him might be there.

  • If i was at the Baltimore Theatre I would have just let it be because it doesnt affect me and I have no reason to fight back what he said and I dont have any reason to say anything either.  I dont think this is a coincidence because like you said people see something happen then they do something because they think it is alright to do things like that.

  • If I were there wen this happened I honestly would feel scared and would want to finish watching the show but I would also kinda want to leave. I kinda see it as a coincidence that this happened, to happen right after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting because what if another shooting were to happen after this man did he salute.

  • If I was there I would stay until the performance was over if he was escorted out. If he wasn't escorted I would have left. I don't think that this is a coincidence with the pittsburgh shooting I think that the person that did this just got influenced with what happened in the syagogue.
