Wayne Arthur Silsbee was wanted to the FBI for sexually assulting young girls and hid from the authorities for 23 years. In september of 1995 and later on in april Wayne assulted girls between the ages of 8-10. This past friday Wayne who is now 62 decided to walk into the Oregon City Police Department and he then turned himself in for his crimes. The FBI was still suprised why he turned himself in they believe he was tired of running.
1- What would you do if you were in the FBI trying to find this man and then find out he turned himself in?
I would be very suprised but I would also be so glad and still shocked that after so long he finally decided to just turn himself in that easy.
2- Why do you think he turned himself in after so long?
I think he was just getting tired of running and always having to hide from the cops and make sure he never gets caught doing anything.

Your summary is very brief. Also be sure to continue replying throughout the entire week.
I would be excited and surprised but also disappointed because he basically walked free for his entire life and now he gets to be "punished" on his own terms. I think he was tired of running and it's near the end of his life so he probably wanted to repent.
For one i would be in complete shock because he finally decied to turn himself in and I would be relived because I would know that he is found and that I wouldn't have to look for him any longer. I think he knew at one point he would be found so he decied to be a man anf just turn himself in.
I would also be surprised if he just walked in to the police department but would be glad he could finally be put away for justice. Maybe he realized how wrong his actions were and felt really guilty combined with being tired of always having to be on the run.
I think that he just became tired of running and probably began to feel guilty that he did something so terrible to these young girls, and impacted their lives forever.
I would think that I worked for 23 years trying to find this guy and then he just turns himself in I'd feel like I wasted a lot of time on it. He was tired of trying to hide from the cops and just wanted everything to get over with. I don't think i would go that long.
I would not understand why he turned himself in after all this time and would be very surprised but happy that he will serve his time for the trouble that he put those young girls in.
I would be incredibly surprised because he'd not been caught for 23 years and honestly I probably wouldn't have thought we would ever catch him after so long. I think he was tired of sneaking around and living in fear of being taken to prison, so he just owned up to his crimes.
If I was in the FBI and he turned himself in I would be shocked, but relieved that he decided to finally face his consequences. It was definitely a hard decision for Silsbee to make. I think he was tired of running and/or tired of the guilt.
I agree it would be relieving for the FBI agents especially because they might get to know the families that Wayne did all those things to while trying to find him and it might weigh on them knowing they haven't been able to get him for justice for over 2 decades.
