Efstathios Moumouris went out in his fishing boat on Wednesday morning. He sent his wife of a picture of a fish he caught, and then he texted her and told her he was leaving. But as he was leaving a storm started up and he went to get a life jacket and was thrown out of the boat, and the boat floated away from him. He was then forced to tread water for 23 hours while the coast guard looked for him. He was almost found twice during the time he was treading water but was missed both times and then ended up getting saved. Do you think you would be able to tread water for that long? Would you be able to stay floating while you saw two boats go bye?

This is a neat survival story. I can't believe he could tread for 23 hours. I could never tread that long. I don't know what I would have done if that were me, of course maybe if it was a life or death situation I could tread that long. It's too bad the coast guard missed him twice. It would be hard not to lose hope after seeing coast guard twice and they still can't find you.
If he would of had his life jacket with him he wouldn't of had to tread so much and they are bright colors usually so the coast guard might have been able to see him easier!
I would not be able to tread water for that long. If two boats went bye I would still tread water as long as I could.
That is crazy!! I have no body strength what so ever so this is astounding. Anyone who is able to do that has got to be pretty though.
It would be hard to do, but physically anybody could do it the only thing would be getting past the mental barriers.
I don't think I could tread water for even close to that long. It would be different if he had a life jacket, but it is a miracle that he is still alive!
I don't think I could stay treading water for anywhere close to that long! I think once the first boat passed me, I would lose a little bit of hope. When the second one passed me, I think that I would have gave up. Props to him for having hope and eventually getting rescued!
Efstathios must of really wanted to live. Being able to tread water for such a long period of time is crazy. I don't think I would be able to tread water for that long, if I was a really strong swimmer then maybe I could. He could of just floated on his back instead of treading.
This is insane! When I tread water for swim team I can barley do that for 2 minutes but 23 hours!?! That's crazy!
Wow, That is crazy! I don't think that I could that do that, but if my life depended on it I might be able to do it
