William Dresser, age 88, recently bought a hand gun. While his wife was a patient on the third floor of the hospital he went up there and shot her in the chest. " Her injuries were life threatening," said editer Martin Griffin. The article didn't say why he shot her but he was arrested Sunday afternoon and is now on suicide watch. His bail is set at $225,000.

I feel like he did it for a decent reason. It was probably because she was suffering in the hospital, and wanted to die.
I think this situation is an odd situation. I think he either needs help, or he just couldn't take seeing his wife go through what she was going through anymore.
i think it is a very interesting situation. i dont understand why he would shoot his wife unless he wanted ho put her out of her misery. he also could of felt anger about something happening in the past and wanted revenge. ether way no 88 year old man needs a gun.
I think this is very weird. He goes and buys the gun, just to shoot his wife in the hospital. He must have had problems in his life, which caused him to do this. Hopefully the wife lives and the bad situation is resolved.

I wouldn't have a clue as to why the man shot his wife. I feel like more information would be needed to explain why exactly he would perform such a extreme maneuver.
He probably shot her, because he didn't want her to suffer any longer and wanted her out of her misery. It's still dumb since she might have had a chance with something better. It's not out of love, it's out of stupidity.
Maybe she said something wrong or their marriage wasn't going well. I think if his wife was already in the hospital why shoot her.
People these days are just getting weirder and weirder. If I had a wife I don't think I would shoot her.
