1. Black widow spider bites are considered to be the most venomous bite you can get. Do you think using a blow torch was necessary in this situation?

Using a blowtorch in this situation was definetly not necessary. He easily could have used a shoe, or even just used the blowtorch can to kill the spider instead of trying to use flames in this case.

2. Black widow spiders only bite when they are disturbed. Could this man have prevented the whole situation?

He could have prevented this whole situation by being more careful using the flames or not using them at all, especially since he isn't in his own house.

  • Overall good job. I do think your questions could have been better(-2) and i also think you could have commented more and on three different days instead of two.(-5)

  • This man was probably messing around with the blow torch and accidentally set the house on fire, and then blamed it on seeing a black widow spider. There defintely would have been easier ways to stop the spider.

  • I think that there were other ways (safer ways) to handle this situation. I think that he could have prevented this whole situation by simply killing the spider quick and easy so that it didn't even get a chance to bite.

  • Even if it is the most venomous bite that you can possibly get, I believe that using a blow torch is a little of the top. Yes, he could have just killed it with a shoe when it was not paying attention.

  • Um, some people may think but I would try to kill it with my shoe and then get napkins to pick it and flush it down the toliet! If he has a fear of them no. I know my friends run and scream (linds) and she would use a blowtorch, but if you liked them maybe you could.

  • I would have just tried to trap somthing or call call an exterminator. I would then probably just stay at reliatives or freinds. I think he could have prevented this by not getting a blowtorch and just leaving that spot where the spiders were.

  • 1.) I mean no, because that is not the safestway to go. I would have like put on thick gloves or something and long sleeve shirt and used like a shoe or something hard to kill it. I would have put on that clothing because just incase it jumped and bit me. 2.) Yes, he could have totally avoided this situation.

  • I don't think that was the right thing to do because there a re safer ways of getting rid o fthe spiders but he definatly though that was the fastest and easiest way to get rid of them. He definatly could have prevented this by just not getting close to them or calling pest control.

  • I do not believe a blowtorch was necessary in this situtation. I'm sure a fly swatter or a shoe could of done a good job. This man could of avoided the situation if he would of remained calm. This would also allow a calm atmosphere for the spiders.

  • I think that the blowtorch was not nessary for to get ride of the spiders and i thik he should of call animal control or a pest control. this man could have pervents this acaident vary diffentley and not burn the house down
