Jesse Duplantis, a televangelist from New Orleans, said through social media that he really wants to get a new private jet but wants to make sure that he is not asking anyone for money, just want his fans to believe that he must get a new one. He caused a lot of motion after it was spread out that he needed another jet (he already three other jets), a brand-new Dassault Falcon 7X, valued at $54 million, but his defense is that Jesus told him to: “I’m not asking you to pay for my plane, the Lord said, ‘I didn’t ask you to pay for it, I asked you to believe for it. ’That is what I said. So, I’m believing, and I want you to believe with me. I never raised money for the plane, I put in our magazine and said believe God with me. There’s a vast difference between ‘believe in God’ and asking for money”. In the video he also said that he doesn’t feel sorry because he did nothing wrong, and actually liked all the fame that he got from the video.

Q1: What would you do if someone came to you asking for money for this type of cause, saying that it is God’s will? Honestly, I wouldn’t believe it and probably wouldn’t give him the money. I know that is the right thing to help everyone, but I don’t think that giving money to buy a $54 million jet is actually “God’s will”.

Q2: Would you be embarrassed after all the percussion that this case had, or would you be just like Duplantis and feel happy for everything that happened? I think I will be a little bit embarrassed after all the news and interviews about me and about what I said, but I think I understand him. If he believes on what he is saying, and if it’s not hurting people in some ways than he can do/ believe in whatever he wants.

  • Well done overall Luiza! Be sure to comment on three different days and continue replying throughout the week.

  • 1) I think that if he is wanting something like this, he is going to have to work fo it. I don't think just handing out money is right. I also don't think that this is gods will. I think that if he wants it, he should have to pay for it.

    2) I would be embarrassesd to know that I was asking for supporting money for a 54 million dollar jet. He probably has his dreams, but I don't think that this is going to come true. I think that he wanted attention.

  • I wouldn't belive that god told him that he needed to buy another jet because he already had three and by what he did he kind of asked his supportes for money. I would be a little embarassed because of all the sudden attention.

  • I would not believe the situation and I wouldn't give him any money. Even if he said that I should do the right thing in help him I would still refuse to give any money to him.  I would be embarrassed about it if it got out and was nationwide, I would want to try to and explain to everyone on why I felt that this was God's will.

  • I do not think that I would give him money for a jet for his own personal use. I would be embarrassed because I had guilted people into giving me money by saying is was "God's will" and using the money for a private jet.

  • I would ask the person to prove to me that it is God's will. I would also ask them why it was God's will and why he cares about a $54 million dollar plane. I would be very embarrassed about this if it got out and was a national story. I would also try explain why I felt that this was God's will.

  • I would tell them no becauase it is not a good enough reason to give them money. If it were a more reasonale reason to ask for money then I would. I would feel embarrassed because I asked for money for something that isn't even necessary.

  • If some random person came up to me with a situation such as this one claiming it was God's will I would be doubtful. I wouldn't give them any money because it is likely a fraud. I would feel embarrassed about the attention of this case. I wouldn't want people looking towards me especially when this case has received so much bad attention.

  • I agree with you. In my opinion I also think that "God's will" would not involve someones need for a private jet. He is using it as an excuse and I don't think it is going to work. If someone came up to me asking for money in a scenario like that, I personally don't think I would give them the money either.

  • I would probably know right away that he just wanted money for something and especially if I found out it was for a jet and he already had three I would not give him money at all.  If I did it I would be a bit embarrased because that's not a good way to become famous that would just be straight out embarrasing to become famous for that.
