Man Escapes Work Release Facility in Council Bluffs

Colton Blaine a man charges with voluntary manslaughter, and voluntary absence escaped his work place facility sometime Sunday, April 29th. He was placed on work release March 16 which allowed him to go to work then go back to jail when he was done working. It allowed him to adjust to being free and it helps inmates get a path for careers once they are out of prison. He failed to return to the prison after being done with work and was placed on Escape Status and was wanted by police. Hours after fleeing he was found and arrested in Harlan Iowa. More charges are pended for fleeing.

If you saw him and knew he was wanted, what would you do?

What do you think should happen to Colton for fleeing?

  • Summary is fine but you only replied once. It was also one day late(-5).

  • I would call the police and leave the area as soon as possible. I think that he should have to face the consequences for his choice and so he should have to go back to jail.

  • Call the cops and make sure he doesn't follow me so as too try and stop me from calling the cops. Be accompanied by a cop when he leaves to go to his job.

  • I would defiantly call the police if I saw him because he could be dangerous.  I think that he wont be able to have work leave again after doing this and a longer sentence.

  • I would call the cops and follow him around until the cops showed up. I think he should be put back in jail and not get a work permit again.

  • I would honestly be a little worried that he would try to hurt me or anyone and wonder why he isn't in jail. I think he should either have to start over on his privileges or have to stay in jail longer

  • Call the police, because i would not want to get involved with it. he should just do his time in jail and should get some more time

  • I would for sure call the cops because he does not deserve to be out for what he did. I think that he deserves to be in jail longer than he was originally supposed to be maybe even for the rest of his life.

  • If I saw him and I knew he was wanted, I would call the police, or if there was a certain number, call that number. I think his work release should definitely be taken away and maybe he should even had to stay in jail for longer than what was originally planned.
