James Jordan was arrested for the attack on one male and one female hiking on a trail in Virginia. One was killed and the other was seriously injured. The police won't tell news reporters which one of the two people had died but they said the other is recovering. When brought into the hospital the male and the female had not been identified and still aren't. The couple was found by the police from the man's phone that he called help on. The police traced the call back to the phone and got the couple's location. The authorities had Jordan surrounded and Jordan surrendered willingly to them. Jordan is now under arrest by the Wythe County Police. He has been charged with one account of assault/ intent of murder for injuring one of the hikers and also charged with an account of murder for the other one that has died. While in custody Jordan's first expected court hiring is tomorrow.
How long do you think James Jordan should be in jail?
I believe he should be in jail for life. He killed somebody and attempted to kill another. I was researching it and apparently, it is 30-40 to even life. If anyone takes a life I think they should be in jail for life.
What do you think made James attack the Hikers?
What makes a killer want to kill? I don't think anyone knows. Maybe he was mentally ill, they looked at him wrong, or he was so jealous of something that he lashed out. There are a number of things that people would kill for. But it doesn't give anyone the right to kill another human being.

I think that he should be in jail for life because this isn't probably the first time he has done this. I think he attacked them for sport and just to have fun. He probably was going to kill more hikers if he didn't get caught.
I agree that he should be put in jail for life due to the fact that he killed one person and also made an attempt to kill another one. I also agree that if someone takes a life they way this guy did they should be put in for life automatically.
I think he should be in jail for a long time because he killed somebody and tried to kill another. I think it was a random killing and he just went after the first people he saw because he couldn't have known they were gonna be there. I'm sure he's not so good in the head.
I agree that he should be in prison for a very long time, he deserves life because of the crimes he committed. It's even worse than it seems so random and unnecessary, it's terrible to just go out and randomly kill someone like that for no discernable reason
I also think that he should have a lifetime sentence or at least spend a lot of time in there because he killed a person and tried to do the same thing with another one. I honestly don't know why he did what he did, but I'm pretty sure that killing those hikers doesn't need any excuse for.
I agree that James Jordan should be in jail for a long time even possibly the rest of his life. I agree with you but if he is insane and the court finds that he is then he can get away from jail with the reason of insanity and be sent to a mental hospital.
He should be in jail for a long time, I don't think 30-40 years is enough, he deserves a life sentence. I agree he was most likely mentally ill. If he was drunk or stoned the police probably would have released that information. Until the police release the names of the victims it will be hard to tell if he had a grudge against them.
I agree with you that 30-40 years should be longer for the crime he committed. It could have been a number of things that "made" him do this like mental illness is the most likely, drugs, or even alcohol. Either way, he needs to be in some kind of containment for what he has done.
I think that James Jordan should be put in jail with a life sentence because he attacked two people, killing one and seriously injuring the other. He took someone else's life, he shouldn't be able to go back out after doing that. Unless he's mentally ill, he is just a violent person who for some reason went out and attacked those 2 people hiking.
I agree that he should be in jail for what he did and what he failed to do. Murder and attempt of murder aren't something people should be taken lightly. I think that those two people happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
