James Jordan was arrested for the attack on one male and one female hiking on a trail in Virginia. One was killed and the other was seriously injured. The police won't tell news reporters which one of the two people had died but they said the other is recovering. When brought into the hospital the male and the female had not been identified and still aren't. The couple was found by the police from the man's phone that he called help on. The police traced the call back to the phone and got the couple's location. The authorities had Jordan surrounded and Jordan surrendered willingly to them. Jordan is now under arrest by the Wythe County Police. He has been charged with one account of assault/ intent of murder for injuring one of the hikers and also charged with an account of murder for the other one that has died. While in custody Jordan's first expected court hiring is tomorrow.
How long do you think James Jordan should be in jail?
I believe he should be in jail for life. He killed somebody and attempted to kill another. I was researching it and apparently, it is 30-40 to even life. If anyone takes a life I think they should be in jail for life.
What do you think made James attack the Hikers?
What makes a killer want to kill? I don't think anyone knows. Maybe he was mentally ill, they looked at him wrong, or he was so jealous of something that he lashed out. There are a number of things that people would kill for. But it doesn't give anyone the right to kill another human being.

I think James Jordan should go to jail for life for killing an innocent person and for attempting to kill another, I am sure that James Jordan was either mentally ill, was intoxicated, or had held a grudge on this couple for some odd reason, but it still is not an excuse for murdering someone.
I agree that he should go to jail for killing the other person and attemting to kill another and he should go for life. I also agree with you that he was most likely not mentally stable or had something against these people.
I also agree that James Jordan should be in jail for the remainder of his life for what he did. But unfortunately, the sentence for murder is only 30-40 years. I think he might have a mental illness but he could have also been on some type of drug that "made" him do this.
I think the man should be imprisoned if he is mentally stable, but if he's incapable of the incarceration, he should be put away in an institution for life and/or a very long time. I think that the main reason he did it and then willingly surrendered was that he was essentially hoping for a suicide by cop scenario, or even that he was too unstable to control himself and his actions.
I think that considering that this man killed another human being, he should certainly recieve jail time. I think that there are many reasons that could have lead him to do this. A few being that he was under the influence of some drug, he was psychotic, or he hated the people.
I agree that he should be in jail for life, he killed somebody and if you kill somebody you shouldn't be allowed out again especially since he tried to kill another. I agree with you, he may have been mentally ill or maybe he had some sort of lash out like you said he could have also been very mad and just took it out on them.
I think anyone that commits murder should serve a life sentence or the death penalty, if you kill someone else you shouldn't be able to see the light of day. I think James is a little bit insane and should probably be put in a mental hospital if he is found not guilty by reason of insanity.
I agree with you but the average sentence for murder is only 30-40 years which isn't good because how could you tell if they wouldn't kill again when they get out of jail? If he is found not guilty by reason of insanity he should be in a mental institution for the rest of his life so he can't do anything like this again.
I agree with you, I think that he deserves to be in jail for life. Killing and severly injuring two innocent people is something that should not be taken lightly. I don't think he probably knew the hikers on a personal level, so one could only guess why he did it. I agree that he could have easily been mentally ill and unstable.
I also think that James Jordan should be in jail for the rest of his life because of what he did. He took someone's life and attempted to take another but failed. It could have been some kind of mental illness or it could be drugs and alcohol.
