There has been a lot of debate on whether they should lower the voting age or not. They say there are a lot of pros and cons to it, but I feel there are more pros than cons.
Some pros of lowering the voting age are that it will help with voter turnout, and it could also help with lifelong voting habits. A lot of people feel 16-year-olds should vote because there getting to the age of understanding of what’s going on in the world and, they should have a voice in what goes on whether it's in-state or local elections.
Some cons would be that the 16-year-olds may not be mature enough to vote. Another reason people think it is bad is that research shows that 18-29-year-olds have low voter turnout; therefore, it would be pointless to lower the voting age. Finally, the main reason people do not want 16-year-old to vote in elections is that they feel parents persuade their kids to vote a certain way, and they specifically persuade them to vote in the way their parent’s political beliefs are.
I feel that they should lower the voting age because I feel the younger generations have major opinions on politics, and I feel we should have the right to vote in order to shape the future of America.
Should they lower the voting age? Why or Why not?
Would you vote if you had the chance to?

I do not think teh voting age should be lowered because I feel like most people at that age can still be very immature. If I had the chance to vote I would but I would make sure I know what I'm voting for and not just follow what everyone else is doing. I feel like most 16 year olds and maybe even 17 year olds might just follow what others do and not actually be aware what they are voting for.
I see your point. I would also vote for a person I am educated on.
I think it would be cool for the voting age to be lowered, but I don't know how realistic it would be. I think some 16 year olds are not mature enough to make a realistic decision, and they could also be forced into voting for a certain party. If I had the chance to vote, I probably would. I think there are going to be a lot of road blocks before the voting age is lowered.
I think that they indeed should lower the voting age to 16, but I understand why the goverment would be skeptical of this, because 16 year olds don't make the wisest deciosns and some are often very unfamilar with important issues, but the difference between age16 and 18 is only two years. There's not a big difference in that matter of fact, and both ages hold lots of responsibility. If I had the chance to vote when I turn 16, I most likely would, but I would make sure I'm educated deeply enough about each party, and I would defintely make sure it's the person I want to vote for, not a steryotype.
If I had the chance to vote at 16 I would too, and I would also educate myself on which party I align more with.
I think it sounds pretty nessisary, I mean by the time your 16 your able to get a job, drive so why wouldn't you be able to? When I turn 16, i would take the chance to vote cause I feel like I'm able to make that kind of descion when I'm 16
I think that the age should be lowered because at the age of 16 you can register in the army but you can't vote for our country. I think that if people are old enough to risk their lives protecting our country they should be able to vote. I do see the cons with lowering the age because there will always be the stupd 16 years olds. If I had the chance to vote I would definitely take it.
I agree with you because if you can register for then the army you should be able to vote too.
For me voting is a touchy subject. When I will be able to vote I will most likely do my reaserch on who to vote. Voting is not something you can just go into blindly. Lowing the voting age may be better in some cases, but at the same time there are always peopel that dont know what they are doing and think running into it blindly will be perfectly fine. If I had the chance to vote I would do my reaserch on who you are able to vote for, because that way I have somewhat of an idea what would happen.
I agree with you because every election I do my research and look at what they believe and make sure it lines up with what I believe even though my opinion doesn't matter.
