Last February, Warner Bros. announced a new DC superhero movie based on the character Nightwing, which will be under the direction of The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay. Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, has been a major supporting character in the Batman mythos ever since he was introduced as the original Robin in 1940. After witnessing his parents' murder, Dick was adopted as the legal ward of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, and then took up the mantle of Robin and joined his father-figure in fighting crime in Gotham. Later on, as the character aged up, he left behind the Robin persona and started fighting crime on his own as Nightwing, becoming a respected hero in his own rights. Although Nightwing has appeared in many animated films and TV shows, such as Son of Batman (2014) and Young Justice (2011-2013), this is his debut in live-action films. This movie joins the sea of other DC films in production which focus on DC most beloved characters who may not be as popular in the mainstream as Superman or Batman, including Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, just to name a few.
Questions:
1. Have you seen some of DC's recent movies like Batman vs. Superman and Suicide Squad? If so, what do you think of them?
2. Do you look forward to some of DC's upcoming movies like those I mentioned?
3. Would you watch the Nightwing movie when it comes out?
Opinion:
1. Yes, I've seen both of those movies, and frankly I was rather disappointed by both. I feel like they were over-hyped, and when I went to go see them, they weren't really at all what I was expecting. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of Ben Affleck's interpretation of Batman, either. However, if, as the DC cinematic universe continues to unfold, fans get more insight as to why he always seems absolutely dead inside, I may learn to accept it.
2. Yes, I'm absolutely looking forward to these new upcoming movies, but I'm also nervous that they'll just flop like BvS and SS. I'm glad these characters are being brought into the more mainstream media, but I'm afraid that they'll be messed up, mis-portrayed, if you will. It seems to me that Warner Bros., as they're trying to make more money, look at Batman, see that he's a popular character, and say "Hey, let's turn everybody dark and gritty like Batman, because that's what people like!" However, this doesn't work with characters like Superman and Wonder Woman who aren't inherently so dark and gritty.
3. Yes, I'm very excited to see the Nightwing movie, but also nervous that it will be messed up, that they'll try to make him dark like Batman, even though he's actually a very lighthearted and optimistic character. Nightwing is my favorite Batman character, my baby, if you will, and I'll be very upset if they screw him up.

Excellent job!
I haven't seen Batman vs. Superman or Suicide Squad, but the trailers looked over-hyped in my opinion. Personally, DC is one of the best franchises for making comics, and cartoons, such as Teen Titans (2003 series). I probably would watch Nightwing, just to see if it lived up to the hype or not.
Suicide squad is one of my all time favorite movies. I could watch that like all the time. Batman vs. superman on the other hand I have not seen. I mean I guess,, action movies are pretty chill. If it looks good I might watch it.
Yeah, I didn't hate Suicide Squad, it was pretty entertaining, but I think I could have been better, and I feel like they're just trying to make money, and nothing else.
I haven't actually gone and seen any of those movies but I have seen previews and I think that they are too far from the originals and too futuristic. I would be excited to go see one of those movies and hopefully they will be some what like the originals. I don't go to many movies but I would definitely go watch it.
Yeah, I agree with you, but they do take place several years after previous DC films, like The Dark Knight. I do hope that the movies start to become better, again, like The Dark Knight trilogy.
I have seen those movies, and I think that they were okay, and not really that great. I think that they have learned from their mistakes, and will make these new ones better. I think that I would see the Nightwing movie.
Yeah, I didn't hate those movies, they weren't terrible, I just wasn't super crazy about them. I also really hope that W.B. learned from their mistakes, and that these new movies will be better.
