The article talks about how Lindsey won a bronze medal in her final race. Lindsey has broken bones, torn ligaments and has had concussions throughout her career. These injuries have forced Lindsey into retirement. She says, "my body is broken beyond repair." Sometimes Lindsey was scared of crashing again. Lindsey is well respected and loved by her fellow racers from all over the world. She changed women's skiing forever by winning the most medals. Other women racers feel that Lindsey made it okay to be a "girly girl" and a dominant, competetive skier.
1. Lindsey Vonn came back from a lot of injuries, would you have stayed in downhill racing that long? Why or why not.
Even though I loved this sport I wouldn't stay in racing because I would feel like I was going to be hurt over and over again. I would have stopped after my first serious injury. I wouldn't be doing my best if I felt scared.
2. Do you feel it is ok to be a "girly girl" off the playing field but also be in a competetive spot?
I think it would be a good thing to have a separate life outsinde of the sport your in. Sometimes you need a break from it to spend with family or just to have fun with friends. I feel that it reflects off of how your playing too. If you have something good in life happen you would be more focus.

Well done overall Billy Joe! Be sure to comment on three different days next time. Also be sure to capitalize key words in your title.
If I had gotten as many injuries as Lindsey, I would be a little nervous to get back up and try it again. It's was her passion though, and its inspiring to me how she never gave up despite her many injuries. I definitely feel it's okay to be a "girly girl" in competitive sports. Nobody has to be super tough and buff to be a good athlete. You can wear a bunch of makeup, pink, etc and still be one of the best.
If I truly loved the sport I would stay in it because it would be a passion of mine, even if there were a few broken bones and bruises along the way. Yes, I think it's a great way to be because you need to be competitive in any sport if you want to get anywhere, without that the sport would be no fun.
If I was very good at the sport I think I would stay in it, but if I kept getting injured from it I would definitely consider stopping unless I really loved it. Yes, it doesn't matter if you are a "girly girl" or not, the only thing that should matter in a competitive sport is your own abilities and skills.
If I were passionate about the sport at the start and I was able to come back from the injuries, yes I would have stayed racing. After years of injuries, I don't think I would come back because of the wear and tear on my body. She has her own life outside of the sport and she should feel safe being able to do what she wants.
If I was as good and pasionate about the sport as she is I would not give up and try to keep going and improve. This is her life and she wan'ts to get better and keep competing against others. I think that you can still be a "girly girl" and strong and good at a sport.
Personally after being injured that many times and suffering injuries that severe I would have stepped away from the sport. It is incredible that shge still managed to win races after all that has happened to her. People can be whatever they want off the field, no matter what sport they play.
If I truly loved it, I would have stuck through it until the end no matter the cost. I feel that it is okay to be a so called girly girl but also play sports. Anyone can play a sport if they put the effort and time into it. You can also have other interests other than sports, and you don't have to wear certain things or do certain activities in order to be considered sporty.
I would try to keep pursuing my dreams as long as I could, but eventually there would have to be a point when I would finally tap out and retire. It is a great thing for the athletes like her to just be themselves when they are away from the sport.
I think that if I loved the sport then I would stick with it. However, if someone told me that I it could be a threat to my life then I would probably quit. I think being a different off the playing field is fine. I also think that if you are a "girly girl" it doesn't determine if you can be competetive or not.
